Hello all. I'm having some issues with TID Manip (for Blue NSC run). While I am a beginner, and it can just be mechanical error on my part, I have followed the following instructions again and again but can't get Hitmonlee to show up after Squirtle leaves the screen.

Instructions:

1. Hold UP+Select+B when the copyright screen appears.
2. When you hear the cry sound affect on the main title screen, release and start holding A+B+Start+Select.
3. When the game resets, do nothing.
4. When Jigglypuff does its second jump, hit A (I have also tried holding A; something that I have also heard to do).
5. Hold Start when the main menu appears.
6. Hit B as soon as it gets to the New Game screen.
7. Right when Squirtle slides off screen, hold Start.
8. Hit A once New Game appears.

I am running a Gameboy Pokémon Blue ROM on the most recent version of Gammbatte-Speedrun emulator.

My keybinds are as follows (in case those are the issue for some reason): Up=W Down=S Left=A Right=D A=1 (numpad) B=2 (numpad) Start=0 (numpad) Select=. (numpad)

I think I figured out this issue, but I still need help. I'm not running a GBC bios file for Pokémon Blue. However, I can't seem to find one, or one that looks legit. Can someone paste a download link? Thanks.

Well, assuming I have the correct ROM (which, I don’t think I do, because in the rules it said something about GBC Bios) can you see anything that I might be doing wrong with the manip? Will it not work if I have the wrong mind of ROM?

I know this was a month ago, but here's your solution: You MUST have a gbc bios file, which you can just drag and drop into gambatte so that every gbc game will have a bios, also you are doing the manip incorrectly. (you also need to make sure all inputs are buffered or else this won't work)

1. hard reset
2. on copyright screen hold up, select, B 3 after the jigglypuff thing goes by release up, select, B
3. hold up, select, B until the main menu comes up,
4. hold, a,b,start,select until the gameboy resets (note: you should see a textbox open with only the letter "C" when it restarts
5. wait for jiggly puff to start jumping then hold A
6. hold start until menu screen disappears
7. hold B until that screen goes away
8. after Squirtle goes off screen, hold start
9. after menu screen disappears, hold A
