Just wondering...Seems odd there's no NG Any % runs for him. was debating getting into this, and noticed the lack of Beck...
I think the main thing is that Gunvolt has an easier learning curve due to his fairly straight forward play style. Beck has some kind of weird movement options since he doesn't get double jumps like Gunvolt, rather he dashes instead. Also Gunvolt kind of has a reputation in these games of being the more popular character since the original game he had the fastest times so by extention had the most runners. If you want to run Beck don't let the lack of runs stop you, we would love to see them :D
I've been working on it. The problem is in my first attempts at Beck Any%, I choked. Various deaths that just made me go "I can't do this yet." So that's an issue. I've gotten what I consider a fairly good route and custom shots put together. Now I just need to be able to properly run it, and that's the tough part.
In particular though, the things that give me the most trouble...
City Boss-RNG Hell at its worst. You pray he'll stay on the ground, keep facing you...Then he either jumps, turns around, or a combination of the two. RIP quick kill.
Radio Tower-Ascending the tower. I always tend to get hit by the last flying enemy as I reach the top, going for the last CP pickups. Haven't found a reliable way to deal with him yet.
Highway-On occasion I've messed up the ATK powerup grab, which basically kills the run.
I also need to figure out if I can better optimize my loadouts, as I have two I switch between during the run. A stage loadout (Focused on damage mitigation and airdashing) and a boss killer loadout (Focused on ATK, Diagonal Shots, and damage mitigation). I don't really get to the point I can merge the loadouts until endgame.
I personally prefer Beck to Gunvolt. It's just that Gunvolt's categories have more visibility.
I'll be working a lot on beck NG and beck NG+ since I was one of those you know... mn9 runners you can say ¤cringes for reactions of why I was a mn9 runner¤ lol
No shame in running MN9. It's an entertaining run at least.
I did Beck in MGV - it's still my preferred option there. Gunvolt's double jump though is just so good.
If I ever run 1 slot i'll probably do Beck just to give him some love.
