Interested in running

I'm interested in picking this up to run (PS4), and I was wondering if y'all had any tips on the best ways to start aside from watching the skips in the other thread and reading the guides tab?

I can give you the best tip possible for running ps4...... dont :P

But seriously tho you just need alot of patience with this run, since the airwalks are pretty precise, id suggest watching the run, also if you need a tutorial for the airwalk while holding a grenade let me know, ill make one for you :)

Man, you weren't kidding about any of that. I've been getting some of the tricks down but a lot are still pretty difficult for me to do consistently at this point, I'll be keeping at it though. But a couple questions, is it better to play unpatched than patched? And what is a consistent way to get elevation on the skips where you open the journal? I can get him to chill in mid air but he won't take the elevator.

Holy shit sorry for the late reply dude, the book launches when you dont understand them are pretty precise and would be hard to explain by typing, so if you want i can try making a tutorial for you, its really easy once you get it down. Also about the patch, the only game where deleted the patch is relevent is uncharted 3, because for some reason on 1,0 of that game in the nathan drake collection you can clip back in bounds really easily, its hard to explain, but it allows for a few more skips, but for uncharted 1 and uncharted 2 no you can leave it patched :)

I am really interested in running this, but I only have the PS4 digital. I don't even know how the glitches are made. For me I just see someone opening the guide book and pretending to throw a grenade. It's really difficult to know exactly what is being done. With someone commentating or showing a few examples would be good like "Aim at this bush, then JUMP and press the GUIDE BOOK button after 1 second".

I watched Erims run but I think it is done with an old patch? Or could I possibly follow that? I feel scammed. I joined in too late. :'( The first game was really easy. Just knowing about the wallhacking was good. Wish it was the same in this game (simple). How am I now gonna beat brutal? ;) I want to learn the speedrun route so that I can do the Brutal run much easier once I have knowledge about the game.

If someone would like to do tutorials of the different glitches that is possible to do in the latest patch, I would be really happy. Even if you just acknowledge that most of the glitches are worthless, that would be nice. Basically I just need to understand what's going on with the guide book (Nate's Journal) and how the grenade walking is done. GG

Honestly, it is still too difficult to know what to do. I mean once you know how to do it, it becomes a joke how easy it is. I get that, but I tried for 20 minutes with only 1 successful attempt and then I threw the grenade too early.

As far as I can tell this is what i need to do.

  1. HOLD L1 (until step 3 is done)
  2. HOLD UP (on analog stick always until I want to stop)
  3. PRESS RIGHT (d-pad tap once fast)
  4. HOLD L2 (until I want to stop)
  5. PRESS JOURNAL (once? twice? Hold it down?)
  6. ENDLESS WALK

Also, I see the other glitch where you read the journal while glitching obstacles like a tree where Nate stands in the air (he's stuck in mid-air reading the journal). How is that one done? From the visuals it just looks like you press the journal, but I bet there is more to it.

Basically you need to be a pro to follow that video if you play on PS4 with the latest patch (where grenade has to be added?). I did manage to beat the game in 3:17 on Normal glitchless (since this didn't work that well for me). Only have Brutal trophy left for this game. If it was easier to execute or maybe better tutorial was done I think more people would embrace it. :)

Now that is the dream info I was hoping for! I thought Step 1 was to press or hold L1 or maybe Left works too (for the handgun to be in your hand). But now I understand you just had to do it tap it once and it will be on permanently.

You're right, I didn't think about him being in the automatic running mode after executing the glitch. Cool. I understand it finally. Now it should be easy to learn how to do it. Thanks! I'm sure there are more people out there who were just as confused as me. Without knowing how to pull off the glitch I thought you guys pressed it twice because it usually opens up the journal. It's nice it even skips that. Just have to find out if this is viable in Brutal difficulty at all.
