Hey guys.
I am a console player.
PS5 and XboxSeriesX has high frame rate mode.
But for now, the Moderators didn't add high frame rate mode to console category.
I know some enemies behave differently in high frame rate mode than in older versions
And stair skating speed seems to be nerfed.
But I think stair skating speed is not affect too much when you use controller.
And I think the high fps and game loading speed are the big adventages in high frame rate mode.
I think no one of Moderators truly speedrun in high frame rate mode by PS5 or XboxSeriesX.
So they could't understand the real time difference and adventages in console high frame rate mode.
Recently I played CBS by PS4Pro, and got 48m33s. (I think I did my best)
But I saw another player played CBS by PS5 high frame rate mode, and got 48m19s easily. (He had many mistakes)
About 14s and more difference.
And I think sub48 is possible in high frame rate mode.
This time difference that can't be easily overcome by player's skill.
Just like PC separate 60fps and 120fps.
Could Moderators disscuss again for add high frame rate mode to console category?
Thanks.
This WR video has not been accepted yet.
Don't post my friend's URL without permission. I'm disappointed that there was a runner with no morals at all.
I agree with the idea of different regulations for PS4 and PS5, as the FPS values are completely different and that affects the score, so I really want them to be different too.
But what about posting a video without permission and criticizing him by saying "he made a lot of mistakes"?
He was just better than you, that's all.
Even if you run at a high frame rate, I don't think you'll be able to beat his record, because he has the ability to correct his "many mistakes."
I guess you still don't understand what I'm saying.
Chill out cuh, it ain't that deep. And why you're saying "he was just better than you" to the guy that has multiple records ? Why do you critize him ? Where is your morals ? Also his english isn't the first language so he could say something he didn't mean to.
At first you are so rude to him.
You should remove his link immediately**.**
I think I should add a category for console high frame rate mode
Then I haven't applied for this video
I don't think I criticize anyone. I just tell the truth. Maybe my English is very poor. So somebody misunderstanding my post meaning and said I'm a no moral runner. I was disappointed. So I suggest the somebody who criticized me, you should go back to your fucking high school and relearning the English. OK?
And somebody said I should remove the link of high frame rate mode.
It was funny.
If I didn't post the link, how could the moderator know the difference between PS4Pro and PS5 high frame rate mode.
Finally
The lady who said I can't beat the PS5 high frame rate mode.
Before you criticize me, you should review your CBS record first, and then thinking about your words is suitable or not.
Lady's CBS record PS5: 50m18s
My CBS record PS4: 49m25s/PS4Pro: 48m33s
Is it a joke?
Just going to jump in here and just say this thread is unhinged for no reason at all. Please be respectful toward one another and re-read what you typed out so it does not come off as rude. We are all adults here so act like it :)
It was very disrespectful to criticize him for being a runner with no morals. I would like to offer my sincere apologies, and I am sorry for the inconvenience.
I would also like to apologize to anyone who read my comment and felt uncomfortable. I will delete the above comment so that it will not be seen by anyone who has not seen it yet.
However, I still want to separate the regulations for PS4, 5, and High Frame, and I would appreciate it if you would consider it.
My native language is not English either, so there may be mistakes in this sentence.
However, I am glad that your apology has been conveyed to me because it is true.
You don’t have to delete your comments. Just simply do and be better, we should help each other not bump heads. Lastly, if you have a problem with any person, hit up the mods and they will help. have a great day and good luck on runs my dudes <3
Hello everyone,
As a former RE2R runner on both PS4 and PS5, before and after the Next-Gen upgrade, I'd like to suggest these new categories and subcategories:
- New Game (Console)
- New Game (Console Next-Gen)
-
60 FPS
-
120 FPS
I can only speak about 60 FPS since I don't have a 120Hz monitor and therefore can't enable 120 FPS (High Frame Rate Mode) in the game.
"PS4 Version" vs. "PS5 60 FPS Next-Gen":
- Zombie behavior is weird/different.
- Load times differ due to HDD vs. NVMe. PS5 has instant transitions; PS4 requires a pause buffer before entering a new zone to avoid losing time.
- PS5 has stable 60 FPS; the PS4 version has frame drops. Explosions and boss battles are affected. Player hitbox is harder to handle, boss battles are faster.
- Stair skating is slightly nerfed in Next-Gen.
I know on PC, knife damage is linked to framerate. Maybe as well on Next-Gen Console.
No major differences between playing the PS4 version (no Next-Gen) on a PS5.
Differentiating the PS4 version from the Next-Gen upgrade is easier due to the first New Game loading speed. In Next-Gen, showing graphics options at the end of the run to identify 60 or 120 FPS might be necessary (High Frame Rate Mode).
Thanks to Shinkai5566 for the request. Congratulations to key4795 for the World Record, and possibly also the first WR of the Next-Gen if this request is accepted.
Best of luck to all
I tested this all months ago using the PC version & RivaTuner to cap my framerate at 30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100,110,120 fps. Then compared test results to multiple PS5 Tests
PS5 / Next-gen seems to be capping at 90fps on PS5 using HFR and a 144hz monitor (it only allows up to 120hz on PS5)
I tested this against Birkin G1, G2 and G3. Unfortunately, 90 is just a bit too weak to employ the 120 fps strategies (Birking can actually fight back below 120fps so you tend to get clipped at least once before getting the knockdown Vs G2, as opposed to 120fps where you can drop him immediately) Also, you can audibly hear the difference in knife hits too with it sounding dull and like one hollow hit with 60fps whereas above 60 it sounds like multiple slashes connecting at the same time almost (check a knife only boss on 60 vs 120 and you'll hear what I mean)
All tests on G1 came back with a consistent large time save on 90 fps HFR Mode vs 60fps as G1 does not get back up once knocked down on 90, it's mega free. Whereas on 30 or 60 G1 can get back up and you have to continue slashing him until he dies.
Next-Gen
Enemy behaviour is slightly different in a few places, there is a new pattern in Library in CAS when coming from Stars office, on PS4 / DX11 the zombie by the table would whiff past you every time for free, on next-gen they can turn towards you causing you to need to shoot them (One of my PS5 PB's likely has this pattern shown) Lickers are a little different too, I had to adapt my line in Kennel to keep it consistent. Most other things are mostly the same.
Stair skating is nerfed a little bit but honestly, it is negligible because of the nano timesave on item pickups and all inventory screens and displays clearing faster in a higher framerate. I also personally found the triggers better on PS5 controller and mixed with the higher framerate and refresh rate making things more responsive I am able actually to do my cleanest skates on this version (I have also seen many runners still not quite understand the correct technique of skating anyways, many still mash aim too much when it's actually rhythm & animation based lol )
I don't have any WR in this game but I have run it on PS4, PC and PS5 for the last 5 years with over 1500 hrs logged and many runs in the book. So I thought I might as well chip in on this topic as it does affect me and my recent PB's
To be fair after taking a look over at the Village boards they just need to copy that format and its job done, everyone should be more or less happy, it seems to work well there from what I can tell.
Cheers
