Low 2:32 is possible with this route but getting the second boost is hard. I think it's not RNG and can be consistent, just difficult. My method is to release the gas when landing and try to aim for where I want to go before the first bolt of lightning hits the chariot. The other reason a good time is difficult on Crete is the NPCs - probably the worst level for them getting in the way, at least tied with Great Wall.
