So the game has changed a lot over the last two patches and a lot of the cast do not even feel/play/look like they used to when the game released. (Especially Axel/Cherry/Floyd/Axel2/Axel3/Zan and probably more)
We might as well have this discussion as a community as early as possible before too many runs get submitted on the boards, but I personally feel like there might be just enough demand to make a category where you are only allowed to use your default moveset and another category where you can use anything you want.
Thoughts everyone?
This will sound like sarcasm but it isn't: More boards = more fun :)
We've already got an insane amount of boards why not add another load - plus throwback runs could be interesting with the new patch.
As someone who usually advocates for more boards, even I feel like we've reached our limit. I do think about it a lot in terms of the Survival leaderboards especially - it becomes a bit stale when everyone plays as Floyd/Shiva/Axel1 yknow, what if I want to challenge for the best Cherry specific time?
I think that's where filters come into play. In my opinion, I'd keep the boards as is, but we could add in a filter option for "Default Moveset", "All Alt Moveset" and "Combined Moveset". Then you can see easily who is the fastest overall using any moveset, but split it with a filter if you're interested in seeing who has the fastest using Default only.
That's what I would do.
I'd personally love if there were character specific boards for Survival (it's the only thing I'm interested in running), but I understand it's not particularly popular so many of them would likely go empty.
If you're on Desktop/Fullscreen the Filters button should be visible just under the menu for 1-10, 1-20, 1-30 etc.
It's not technically more boards. Functionally it serves the same purpose but the way it is set up just now imo is more interesting as you can easily see how each character compares to each other. ie if the fastest Axel1 time is 2nd overall behind the fastest Shiva time, etc.
