Just watch jtb's ngb videos. He does a lot of commentary and there is lots to learn. It's the best place to start from.
The best versions of the game to play is either on xb360/xbone. Though those versions have some rare softlock bugs -_-

I'd also recommend watching Kanis's GDQ run.
It's a very good starting point from there. To run this game competently your first goal is to aim for sub 2h.

You can clearly see submit run button on any board so click on that.
All you gotta do is just to follow the instructions and such. After that mods will verify it.
For the newest strats I would also recommend Frenchie's WR video. Kanis run was great, but Frenchie did some optimisations since that run.
I also did a marathon run 5 months ago that is pretty informative. So maybe I could put it in here? Also brain was going haywire during the run lol, was like 4 am

Start time in the highlight was at 0:50. Fiend Murai was killed at 2:50:45. So the RTA is 2:49:55. IGT is 2:31:26 as shown at 2:51:15 in the highlight.
