Frame Perfect

Ok I know I am asking a lot of questions but I want to understand the rules as well as possible, as well as clarify what the rules exactly mean.

I am curious when exactly you can stop the timer for a run. I mean this for fruit runs. The rules state that you stop the timer "Map's fruit is clearly visible in the frame". So here is a quick video I made with three different timer stops. If one of the moderators could please clarify which one of these is correct. I personally have been doing something between the 2nd and 3rd one.

The video:

As long as the fruit is visible in a frame, doesn't have to be the full fruit, if it's in a frame it counts. First timer stop is correct. What I would highly recommend though is to let record couple more seconds (after the timer is stopped, of course), in case it's not clear if we're looking at the fruit or not.

So the timer can be stopped the moment the fruit comes into frame? This could be confusing for a few fruits, for example towers. For the towers fruit, you can see a green dot really quickly, but it's not quite clear that it's a fruit until a while later when you get closer. When would the timer stop for that be?

Oh that's a fair point.

Rule can be updated to be more detailed: "Fruit takes 5% of the frame". But altogether I wouldn't focus too much on runs like "Fruit: Towers, Fields, Arena". They are available only because of their 3Flags. Weak runs to focus on, waste of time.

Poland

Actually neither Arena or Fields need this rule clarification, they have a solid win condition. Updating this rule just for Towers is wrong. Towers Fruit: as long that green dot is shining you're good to stop the timer. Run Gatehouse fruit instead, there's yet for someone to poost through it properly.

After inner moderator discussion, Towers fruit will stop the timer landing on rock and this thread will be linked in the ruleset.

I have a lot of runs with timers stopped a few frames after the fruit initially comes into frame. Would it be acceptable to re-edit the same run so that the timer stop is more accurate, then submit it as a new run?

Poland

Nah don't bother, give me speedrun.com links to these runs and I'll update their description

Thanks for the info :)
