Hi, I was trying to submit my 1st run ever and got the message "Rate limited. Please try again later." is there a fix to this?

That's weird, maybe try submitting again or logging in and out?

Same issue here. Long time lurker, registered today to submit a run but it just doesn't work. I'll wait but it's not exactly a stellar new user experience, you guys might wanna look into it :p

If you're also getting the 'Rate Limited' message it will pass, it's just trying to combat bots and 'trolling' and unfortunately a lot of users are being caught up in it. I agree it's not perfect, but it's important.

so is there an actual like implemented cooldown between runs? and if so why not just say post cooldown instead of rate limited

I am minded to agree that the user-facing message isn't great - rate limiting is just a term in computing for submitting too many <things> in too short a space of time, for the site it's important we don't know the specifics of how much limiting there is (for now) so the message will be ambigous, but could be more elaborate about what's going on, or have a link to a forum thread like this one explaining it.

It's one thing to try to combat bots and trolls, but it would be nice if things were properly explained? Like if there's a new user wait period in place it should say that. I'm trying to submit a small thing and first got Rate Limit and now am getting Unauthorized Access and its like, man, I don't know what that means or how I'm supposed to respond to it! Information is important to have, in life.

I can say that it gets really annoying when speedrunning levels of a short game (dadish in my case) with each run being less then 30 seconds, is there really no fix?

Sorry for the trouble here. We just deployed a change that should make this happen less often, please let us know if you continue to experience issues.

Yeah, is a very cool change that now we got more social medias to add to our profile (btw i haven't seen the "Rate limited" error anymore so, also very nice)
