I just watch a run for Current Patch and seriously, stop using Carthus Rouge... That thing was nerfed and the Bleed build up is only 20 and for a weapon like Sellsword Twinblades is just bad. Watching that run and see the low damage against Aldrich, Dancer and Soul of Cinder was bad. In Irithyll Dungeon there is that skip and you guys can grab Xanthous Ashes and buy Gold Pine Resin/Bundle for better damage against those bosses.
Feel free to participate yourself in the leaderboards! Development and improvement of the categories with new strategies is always very welcome, and if the current routes are terrible I'm sure you shouldn't have any issues getting a top spot pretty quickly.
The route you are suggesting has been made obsolete about 2 years ago by runners like mirror_wolf, starris and owen, since getting the ashes and making the purchases is still significantly slower than just not taking the detour and having slightly worse damage during the fights.
Are you all speedrunners like that? Can't take advice and criticism. If you all thinks that using Carthus Rouge post nerf is still good, especially with bosses that have resistance, go ahead. The only Base Boss that is extremely weak to Bleed is Crystal Sage.

Having worst damage is better that using Gold Pine Resin/Bundle? It's hard to believe.
On speedruns getting buffs is only faster if the time those buffs save is greater than the time it takes to pick them up, and since our goal is to go fast and not to deal a greater damage than we need the choice between getting the buffs or not is easy to make
i'm simplifying to buffs but this goes to everything pretty much, like better armor or a better weapon or a better buff and such
I'm not sure if you are trolling or not but just in case, he down patched the game
Starting today, new submissions to the leaderboards require the game sound to be audible. Game music is excluded from this requirement.
This change shouldn't have a noticeable impact on submissions and common practice. However, we felt it is important to define this requirement in the ruleset.
