You can start from a reset on most categories. No need to select character every time.

Rookie mode doesn't have some stages unlocked, the stages are Alabasta and Skypea. So if these 2 stages show up, it's normal mode. Some characters won't show up on Rookie but they do show up in normal, so Easy mode only has as enemies: the Straw hats, Boa Hankok and Bartholomew Kuma.

Hard mode will always have characters whose life bar is filled up to the top. Normal mode has some characters who don't have their life bar filled up. So you can distinguish between Normal and Hard mode in Battle 1 or in Battle nº 2.

Superhard mode (for Battle Royale) starts Battle nº 2 with 3 characters, meanwhile, Hard mode still forces you to play against 2 enemies on Battle nº 2. So you can distinguish bewteen Battle Royale Hard and Superhard. But that's not the case for the Taiman category.

Plus the final stage will always be the cherry tree stage on the easier categories.

I hope this helps both the runners and the moderators. Exiting every time is super tiresome.

Yes we are aware of these differences, Although its tiresome, resetting is part of speedrunning, for extra checks. It also adds an extra step that makes it harder to cheat and splice runs.

So you will still have to restart by fully exiting. Failure to follow this rule will result in your run being declined.

@DBcade ?? my runs have been verified already 4-5 months ago, and I restart instead of exiting

My guess is that Nighlin thought it wasn't against the rules on accident, so did I, that's why I kept submitting it in that fashion. What's going to happen to my verified WR runs?

It was no accident, I allowed them after confirming they are in no way cheated. I agree for proofing it is better to reselect your characters. But I dont personally see it as a requirement but rather a nice thing to do for moderation. If your runs were suspect in any other way then I would reject them under that premise.

I know of the things you specified in the above post as well. The nature of showing settings and character select is to reduce the chance of cheating but I dont personally think that it does anything of note to show these things. If someone wanted to cheat they would just deal more damage or affect support cooldowns, which I can see in the recording itself.

@DBcade We have previously spoken on using the retry button and it is no different then loading in to the stage via completing your team, the rules dont require showing you advance into the game mode, so it doesnt give us any additional info that isnt already present in game.

He cant splice a Handcam, and a modified cartridge would be needed to load a modified rom or he would visually need to enter the 3DS memory management tool, but its also a DS game so that wouldnt even work. Finally anything he would hack would be immediately noticed when I see gameplay that is impossible. Showing character team and clicking confirm doesnt add any data we dont already see when he is in the mission after showing him clicking retry.

@The_Challenger99 runs on the board are fine, my issue is with the initial statement "You can start from a reset on most categories. No need to select character every time." Other runners still need to show this and its greatly preferred.

I agree its good to do, but I dont agree that it should be required. When we talked about it in the past we agreed reset was fine. It doesnt help us against cheating in any way, and adds time for no reason to be fair. Even I start my runs from Reset because its easier and its the same moderation if the reset press is shown and they start timer from pressing it. @DBcade

Sounds fine with me, @Nighlin
