Probably so, and considering how finicky and position-dependent the wall climb seems to be it probably isn't ideal in most cases.
Idk if this is common knowledge but I thought this was an interesting take on level 3. Obviously not as fast as the floor clip but seems faster than the tree, so could be a nice medium for people who want something a little more consistent than the clip. As most things in this game the climb is a little fidgety.
Well, nhaar, I definitely ate my words here! I am glad to see there is interest still in Club Penguin speedrunning on Club Penguin Rewritten! For once it actually feels great to be wrong about something, lol. Thanks for the response and sorry I'm replying so late.
Hey qckdth. I tried this but unfortunately it did not work. Thanks for the suggestion though.
In the video you can see with smooth panning the mouse seems to jump forward a bit. Either that or it's freezing momentarily... Makes it impossible to play and is endlessly frustrating. I am using GoldSrc 2.1. Both -noforcemparms and -RInput are in the .bat so I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with mouse acceleration. I was watching the FPS in the top corner and it seems to be dipping for some reason and I think it may have something to do with the stuttering. It is set to fps_max 100 and my CPU is definitely not maxing out so I have no idea why that would be changing. I tried in windowed mode and I'm getting the same results.
This post seems to have the exact same issue I do but has no responses... https://www.speedrun.com/hl1/thread/1wxzv
This is my exact issue! I'm making a post of my own but have you found a solution?
Wow, this was my EXACT problem when setting it up. I go to the forums on this website and it turns out someone just made a thread here with a solution. Amazing. Thanks everyone.
Thanks for your response. Through testing I found that pogo-ing up towards the face and hitting the wall with the hammer diagonally downwards can send you in an upwards trajectory. It's very specific but if it's done right you can get to the face without needing the glitch. I did it in my most recent pb. I think I will stick to that from now on since the glitch is so fidgety.
What I'm talking about is demonstrated here (at 1:07):
I believe the hammer has to get stuck in one of the notches in the wall, but getting it to get stuck is very difficult and the physics there are extremely fidgety. And also, once it gets stuck, how should the mouse be moved so that the character's head reaches the goal? It feels like where the mouse is moved and where the head goes is not always the same.
So is there some way to do this easily that I'm missing?
This seems like a no-brainer. Don't know why this is still unimplemented.
Great, Nestopia is my favorite. Thanks!
I haven't found any rules that specify which NES emulator to use, so I assume they are all ok. If someone could confirm this for me that would be great. I was also curious if we need to submit anything else with the run for proper verification when the run was on emulator.
I'm pretty sure that's it. While I really like CPR and all they do, there's a million issues with allowing CPR (or any private server) speedruns in the original game's categories. That's just not going to happen. And as far as a new separate game for CPR on this website... It just doesn't have the legitimacy behind it that the original did. Even if people were interested in running those categories it would be an extremely small amount of people interested and overall undoubtedly wouldn't have a lasting interest. Of course, there is a lot of joke/random games on speedrun.com, so who knows. But I don't think it's going to happen.
