Hello, I've been having problems with the automatic timer plugins available here (in the resources section). I've tried the programs by Hubcapp and i_o_l and the timer on both of these runs slower than real time.
If I complete 1-1 perfectly (minus the flagpole glitch) I see the black screen in 25.9 seconds, whereas I believe the actual time should be 29.7 (which means the timer is running at about 87.2% of real time).
I could provide a video but there's not much more to it than that. I've made sure that the timer's starting right when I get control of Mario, and it runs at a constant rate throughout. Anyone know what the problem is?
I'm using Windows 10, FCEUX 2.2.3 and the NES PAL ROM .
It's because your using the PAL rom. The fceux timer counts the frames then converts it to seconds using the ntsc frame rate. Not sure why you want to use the PAL rom. All runs submitted here need to use the ntsc rom.
Ok thanks for the help, I'd been using PAL because it was easier for me to get at the time, got the NTSC now.
Any% (NTSC) runs below 4:57.000 must now fulfill additional requirements in order to be verified.
- The run's full session must be included in the submission description.
- For emulator runs below 4:57.000, some form of input display must be visible for the duration of the run. A hand-cam or input
