Potatoes and I have been talking about the best way to maintain and moderate the ANGER FOOT leaderboard on speedrun.com. It's been a long term struggle to make this leaderboard as user friendly as possible because of of how different versions and categories were created in a time where the direction the game would go to wasn't clear.
This is now the case again with ANGER FOOT being introduced on Steam. The challenge now: Every IL made on Steam Version automatically saves a second over V0.8. That is because in V0.8 there was a 1 second delay between ending a level and the ingame timer stopping. This difference now would trivialize all older IL runs when put on the same leaderboard.
The solution we agreed on: Making a new ANGER FOOT Leaderboard for the Steam Version. This leaderboard would be renamed to ANGER FOOT (itch.io) with the new one being named ANGER FOOT (Steam) to avoid confusion. We would be able to create a user friendly IL with Version changes in mind right of the bat. There will also most likely be less drastic changes to the base of the game after the release on Steam, making runs more comparable across Versions coming forward. There are more reasons on why I think this is a great idea, but this post is getting long enough as is.
This whole process is not 100% decided yet and I am still awaiting an answer from mod Dylenoyer before I press the trigger on this and make the request for a new leaderboard. I will post the link to the new page in this thread when we all agree and everything is ready to go.
Because of this, I will not be verifying Steam Version runs for this leaderboard until a definitive decision has been made. Sorry for those who have submitted Steam runs eagerly the past couple days, please bear with us!

So I've seen the Anger Foot community growing since the launch the the Steam Demo and I'm very happy to see this, I was also talking to Patatoes and saw the post in forums talking more about this and I agree with Patatoes, all the ruling is pretty straight forward, so as far as getting a new page for the new version that will have to wait, I heard Patatoes already put in the request so I have not put one in for myself as only one needs to be verified to make that happen.
So until we hear back from them with that for the time being I made the respective categories for the Steam Demo version on the regular leaderboards, because of this issue where the game versions are vastly different they're in their own categories, I just made them and put them right after the Legacy version categories so you just have to scroll down, I apologize for them being in a weird spot but once we can get that other page up and going I can move them over to the other one but again for now the categories are made and set to go.
I also made those new categories for the leaderboards prior to seeing this new forum post so the work is already done, so all the runs from the last week have been verified and people can keep sending in runs for the Steam Demo version, I would like to have this other page up and running sooner than later but we're at the mercy of speedrun to make that happen so fingers crossed we hear back soon!
just in case it's not clear, my request was declined because i'm not a mod but now that every mod are okay, let's make this happend!
So no updates as of yet but I'm going to pester speedrun.com to make that happen, since I'm a mod I should be able to make it happen, I was just waiting to see if Patatoes request would be accepted but alas it was not. I'll put in a request tonight and we should get a response within 2-3 weeks hopefully!
Thanks to all who have been patient with this! I'm hoping to have it up and running as soon as possible but that all really comes down to speedrun.com helping expedite the situation, so fingers crossed and as soon as I find out anything I'll be sure to make a post about it to inform everybody.
I have checked on Icmolreulf, their request got nope'd for some trivial reason, so they just made a new one. We are getting closer !!
By the way, you guys can join the Free Lives discord whenever, there's a bit of community on there, expecially for speedrunning, and for easier chatting than on the forums.
It's a shame that theirs got rejected too for some reason, I'm personally going to be filling one of those out myself, you do need at least two social media accounts attached to your speedrun account and I only have one at the moment, I've been wanting to join the streamer party for a while now so I'm going to be up on twitch soon enough, I'm probably going to have one by tonight at some point but again I'll fill out one of those request forms here soon and I hope that they accept it, you'd think that if multiple people are sending one in then they'd verify one of them but it makes sense because the game page would need a moderator to start and speedrun.com isn't going to appoint one so it makes sense that they'd require a mod to send one in.
Also in other news, yeah I'm surprisingly not a part of the Free Lives discord yet, I'll join you guys over there later today for sure!
I have sent in a request for the Steam Version of Anger Foot as of like 3:00 AM CST today. The reason we were rejected was because I didn't have enough social medias connected to my account. That should be fixed now. If we're rejected for any other reason i.e. Anger Foot already has a leaderboard via the itch.io version, what's our plan?
