7-1 BBG

Could 7-1 BBG be a potential time save in warpless? (When I tried I had a 40-50% success rate, so maybe it could be done in a run)

It sure can be - but iirc it only saves one framerule. The problem with adding it is that it's so late in a run, you'd have to be on world record pace, and it's a difficult trick (or at least easy to fail) for "only" one framerule

8-2 BBG saves two framerules if you get optimal shot, so double the benefit for the same work.

And unlike 8-2, this jump is inconcistent. I don't really see this BBG being added soon.

The setups for 7-1 bbg are also far more inconsistent than 8-2 bbg - think of kriller's lightning 8-2 bbg setup for a comparison. As a result, it would be far too hard of a framerule to be added in now, on top of the fact that you'd need to find a framerule that the bullet shoots fast enough on in the first place. As darpey says as well, it's far too late in the run to be considered to be the "next big time save" or anything like that.

I was about to list a bunch of other framerules that should be added before 7-1 BBG wait I'll still list some like 1-2 FPG like 1-4 framerule like 2-3 FPG like 3-3 FPG (because 2 framerule save) like 4-1 FPG like 8-2 BBG OK Like Darpey mentioned, 7-1 BBG is way later in the run and saves only 1 framerule. There are still plenty of framerules to save before 7-1 BBG that are either more beneficial or equally as difficult (1-2 FPG E) But if we really consider how hard it might be, maybe it's not so bad

ok lets compare to 8-2 BBG While 7-1 BBG saves only 1 framerule instead of 2, you can actually run through the whole level without slowing down, unlike 8-2, which will result in extremely easily consistent bullet shots so long as you're on a good framerule. If you can easily get the exact same bullet shot, you can more easily time the inputs at the same place in order to have cointoss work in your favor every time, which is a pretty big bonus over 8-2 BBG then again, the setup is slightly more difficult (you have to jump for a certain amount of time instead of an easy frame perfect jump)

So, I think it is a potential time save to be added in the future (like, in the future) But the biggest problem with adding new framerule saves to a run, is that it screws up your framerule pace. That means that adding 7-1 BBG will make you 1 framerule faster than you would be entering future levels. Which means that 7-2, 7-4, 8-2 and 8-4 patterns will all be different, in either a good or bad way (most likely bad). If we were to wait 1 framerule longer on the title screen, that would make the 7-2, 7-4, 8-2 and 8-4 patterns all back to normal. But then that would mess with 1-4, 2-2, 2-4, 3-4, 4-4, 5-4, 6-4, which would really be a problem. also you would have to find a good framerule that has a good 7-1 BBG shot

So, in conclusion, 7-1 BBG is probably as hard as an FPG to execute in my thinking, but what the hardest part about it is to

  1. Find a framerule that will give you a fast enough bullet shot
  2. Somehow manage to make literally the rest of the game work around that framerule save that's a lot of research maybe one day JUST DO 1-2 FPG OK inmahujihu thicc boi
