Separate categories for Switch/PC?

Hi everyone, I've been watching some of Yoshitaka/Tekimichi's recent PC runs and I saw some discussion of whether there's a big enough difference between PC/Switch that they should be separated into different categories (eg, like how Yoshi's Island has different leaderboards for SNES/Virtual Console)

I don't have the PC version so I can't time the exact difference but watching Yoshitaka/Tekimichi, the PC version looks outright faster than Switch due to the shorter loading/cold sleep scenes...

Even if it's only 1-2 seconds per loop, across 70+ loops it could be a difference of 70-90 seconds.

What does everyone think? It feels a little unfair to have them together if one platform has an advantage but at the same time there are so few runners that it might be a bad idea to split the leaderboards...

(Also it seems that SRC was treating runs on different platforms by the same runner as separate listings on the leaderboard so I updated this in the options)

Thank you for your opinion.

As you say, the PC version has a popup speedup, but it's too early and I often review it. It is possible that it will be 1-2 minutes faster, but the difference between the rankings is greater than that, so I don't think it's necessary to separate them yet. But splitting it up doesn't really matter.

And, thank you for updating the options.

Just re: what I was saying about RNG in Yoshitaka's stream - shortly after the PC release people were complaining about event occurence/characters not using abilities but it was patched:

It's possible event occurence in Switch/PC versions are the exact same after the patches but I guess it's another factor worth thinking about...

Personally, I am in favor of splitting the leaderboard. I feel it is better to think of it as looking the same but different on the inside. There are some differences between the Switch and Vita versions as well.

My experience is that the times seem to be faster on Steam. Roughly speaking, I think there will be a 30-60 second difference by the end of LOOP 16.

Hello. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to discuss this.

I am not familiar with speedruns for other games so I don't know if they are usually separated by platform.

Also, I don't have the switch version so I can't experience it... but if those who have played both feel that they are different, I think it is a good idea to separate them. And maybe we will find more definite differences in the future.

I added the platform to the subcategory to try it out. I was aware that it would show up like this, am I correct? (I modified some of the PC records because the default value is Switch, sorry.) If there is a problem, I will revert it back.

With the addition of the variable, there will be two platform items in the next submission.

My thoughts on trying... It looks a bit lonely because the number of people appears to be small. But it looks thriving because there are many categories.

Thanks for updating it - the PC categories do look a bit lonely with only 1/2 players but it makes sense to have them separated so I think it's a good change overall!
