Yay, sub 8:30! I finally got the 5-1 super jump in a run, which saved enough time to make up for mistakes elsewhere.
I'm definitely looking forward to improving this time in the future, but for now I'm moving on to SMB2U Any% as I've achieved my goal time of 8:2x in this category.
