B2K64 | Book II: The Human Limit

A Blitz 2000 Story

Chapter 1: New Beginnings, Old Friends

By now it has become common knowledge that the 4 minute barrier has been broken for Nintendo 64's Blitz 2000 by none other than LUMBERAMERICA. One can be forgiven for thinking that history ends here- for it's easy to forget that where one story ends, another begins...

He may have achieved eternal glory, altered the course of speedrunning history, and saw the Blitz Gods themselves bestow upon him the gift of immortality...

...but to them, LUMBER simply said, “Yeah, word, cool—thanks. But I think I can go lower. Not really into all that ‘immortality’ stuff anyway.”

And let it be made perfectly clear that this is no 'lone wolf' operation- no- this task requires the titans to grind harder than ever before, together as one. The Migals, the Retro_Smittys, The no_ice_5s of the world must come together as one in order to find the human limit; the essence of speedrunning itself- how fast can a human beat blitz 2000 for nintendo 64?

And so begins a new era for NFL Blitz 2000 on the N64. The players are ready, the bar raised, and the stage is set for the next story in speedrunning legend.

Chapter 2: One small step for the community, one giant leap for life as we know it

As LUMBERAMERICA gazed into the orange-purple whisps of high altitude clouds wofting atop the setting sun over a vast endless horizon, he mutters a prayer to the Blitz Gods and begs for the right RNG and for tacos- it was worth a shot, right?

But with one success comes another failure. LUMBER submitted a co-op speedrun, but he got one big thing wrong- he played co-op mode solo (by himself). He knew the rules didn't say that was banned, but he decided not to take the run too seriously anyway. And sure enough, after achieving a solid run he submitted and, for the first time, his run was disqualified. The Blitz Gods had finally pushed back on LUMBER, but LUMBER stood his ground and responded with a firm and confident: "ok ya no problem".
