Starting with Prince of Persia SoT

Hello PoP community! I've been a casual runner of Dishonored and a bit of Borderlands 2 and now I would like to try and learn some Prince of Persia for PC. I'm here to ask you if there's a full guide for running this game or watching vods and videos of single glitches and zips covers every strat and current route. Also, there's a specific versione fo the game for the run?

Check guides section.

Thank you, I was wondering if there was something elsewhere

Well if you are learning any% I would look at the "begginers tutorial" by tocaloni1 in guides. it does showcase easy zips to start out with since you dont want to start trying to learn the zips used in WR since they are very hard in comparison.

I started watching the Zipless route guide by tocaloni1 on youtube, I think I will get confident with the game and the general route with that before trasitioning to any% with zips. I've watched half of it and started practicing the first areas, at the moment I'm struggling with the box glitch. In the video the game stays in first person view when toca does his short backwards movement but my game goes back to the normal view as soon as I tap the analog stick. I'll spend the next hours trying to get that glitch.

EDIT: Ok I tried to make a video of my attempts to this glitch. The video has a input display so you can actually see how far I move the analog stick, I use a Xbox One gamepad. Here's the link

As I said before when I try to move the POV shifts form a first person to the default wide angle and if you compare my input display with the one on Toca's video guide it doesn't seem so much different, at least in my opinion. Although a funny thing happens: there are some moments in the video when I'm not doing anything in first person view and the input display is also not showing anything when in reality I was slowly pushing down the analog stick. could this mean that my controller has an input deadzone big enough to prevent the movement for this glitch to happen? I've already tried to calibrate again my gamepad in windows but with the same results.

Hi and welcome! First of all, there are no version differences that we are aware of.

To figure out if the problem is a deadzone, try doing the glitch in other directions - move the camera slightly to the side and press forward instead of backwards, or even left or right.

That said, if your goal is to learn any% with zips there is no reason to practice zipless. For any% you are going to be playing with mouse and keyboard most of the time, so there won't really be much overlap between the two.

Other answers: We are not aware of any version differences on PC.

Thank you for the answer. I tried to move in every direction with almost every camera angle but nothing happens so I think thhere's a problem with my gamepad :( That's a shame because I wanted to try both Zipless any% and any% but I will stick with the latter for now. I'll combine the zipless route with the basic zips and get consistent with those before moving to the WR ones. I was pretty comfortable playing with the controller, seems I have to switch to keyboard asap.

Thank you again for clarify my doubts and your advice.

Are you mapping the controller to WASD or using the native controller support? If you just map the controller to WASD it won't work. I sent you an invite to our Discord server as a Twitch PM.

Italy

I'm using a Xbox One controller mapped with xpadder, and thank you for the discord invite, I will join as soon as I'm free today

I think that's the problem. You shouldn't need any 3rd party tools, just go into options->controls->gamepad and map your controls.

Italy

I tried but the game doesn't pick up any inputs from it without xpadder, I also contact the support but they redirect me to an F.A.Q. page, this one https://goo.gl/nzwFGK, where it says that basically no modern controller is supported by the game.
