btw, cropping the video to be just the game window would be extremely useful for future runs
Very interesting. Is landing on the truffle on the way down consistent at all, or is this pure luck?
Speedrun.com around half the time does not send me email notifications despite the fact that I'm subscribed to them.
I check src about monthly, so if I didn't get notified, then it could be up to a month wait because I do not know about the run.
To remedy this, whenever you submit a new run or notice that it's taking a while to approve, message me on discord (Exeloar#7295).
I don't think that the game traffic warrants another mod right now. Also, I'm not really sure if the run will be possible starting this December unless we get the actionscript files from the developers, so this game may be retired.
I personally think that the split time on the end of the game is a little arbitrary. It's prone to people splitting on when they think they're being sucked in rather than at an exact time.
I propose ending the run when the cutscene starts instead, which will provide an exact measure of when the run is over. Please let me know what you all think.
What Squid allowed a while ago is that PC would be fine for certain ILs so long as the differences between the versions had no objective time differences (some of my old ILs were from PC version). However, as we learned about the extent of the problems with the PC version we banned it entirely. PC version is now not allowed for full game runs or ILs.
Certain levels are limited by IGT, but I would say a healthy amount of the KBCs save IGT time also (5-2, 1-1, 1-5, 1-6, 6-2, 7-1). The only levels I can think of offhand where timesave is lost due to IGT timing are (1-3 & 5-3).
I agree that it sucks that some of these new strats are not available to be showcased in the ILs, however, the convenience of being able to know an exact time immediately without having to retime your ILs is very beneficial. We can get down to centisecond comparisons without having to run our own independent timers, which I think makes for a more alive and competitive IL scene.
The lack of hassle is a big component in my opinion, but I understand the reasoning for making sure the ILs have the fastest strats. Theoretically we could have an RTA time alongside the IGT time in order to compare the strats, but we would have to retime the levels, and we do not currently have an exact time to start the RTA timer yet.
Hello Azurik,
I have finished working on making routing videos for 100% myself, and I think that what I've done may help you.

Hello, I was just wondering if you guys had a leaderboard for artist on the court ILs. I recently achieved a 1:42:26 on Artist on the court-yoshi, and was wondering where to submit
The PC port is definitely inferior. 60fps only makes the game worse due to things like setups not being consistent (1-1 sign boost can put you over the gate, or you can get a speedup and miss the sign entirely, also things like cannon shots don't always bounce right compared to 30fps pc). PC port is also slower overall in terms of runs due to the 3-2 dinos requiring 2 hits, so while 30fps PC is bearable and a good place to start out before moving to GCN, I would definitely not recommend using 60 fps to learn most things.
is that pirates island behind that cat @Dickson
oh and btw gaming guy, for cooking stations, dream worlds, and slides, we use the single player minigame setting instead of during a run due to it having precise IGT and an official start point.
the one where he swings around the poles and does flips to the next one can be done fast by mashing both a and b
Just noticed, the IL for pasta persuasion is spelled wrong on the boards.
Why is your high score WR 13 ms only instead of like 16 seconds 13 ms?
they're around like 20 dollars if you get the right kind, plus some splitter component cables
PC is fine to start out, but we'd all recommend a switch to GCN eventually
PC has some pros and cons Pros- a couple tricks that are slightly easier to pull off, some particles are different/missing to allow visibility, some camera queues from the GCN version are fixed/removed on PC, cannon shots are easier, and there are no loads. Cons- the bone dragons in 3-2 (dino 2) take two hits to kill which means you have to hatch another Richie, and maneuvering the camera is more difficult (but the improved camera queues make this bearable).
