Error regarding timing of runs in which the player dies

Through experimentation, I have discovered that the in game timer resets to the time of the last autosave upon death. This means that the in game timer is inaccurate for runs in which the player dies. I believe we should change the way the game is timed in order to reflect this, and my world record run should be edited accordingly. The in game timer appears to start on the first frame after "It was a dark and stormy night..." disappears. So, in runs not including deaths, the run time should be decided by the in game timer, and in runs including death, the run time should start on the frame the in game timer begins and end of the frame "Victory" appears.

This method of timing will put my time at a 44:51.

I have also now found that the in game timer has a shorter time at the end of a deathless run according to timing at the first frame of movement and ending with the frame of victory. I believe that the timer stops on the frame solomon is killed, although I have not tested this yet.

watching video replays is showing to me that my guess for the discrepancies in times is incorrect. I'll try and find exactly what is up.

Through extensive experimentation, I have discovered that the timer actually stops on the frame that the level up message appears after defeating solomon. In other words, directly after solomon explodes. I will update the rules to accomodate.

I have a question about the specific rules for running the game. Are you required to clear all floors in the any% run? And is the best way to record on my phone's screen recording feature?

For the any% category, you do not have to clear all floors. That is what clean% is for. If you manage to find a major glitch that allows you to skip to the final boss or something however, I will implement a new category. So basically, you have to BE on each floor at least once, but that doesn't mean you have to kill a single enemy on said floor.

As for screen recording, do you have an android or an iphone?

Ok, thank you for clarifying. I have an android, it's a Samsung.

The app I'm using for screen recording is called AZ Screen Recorder and it works really well. I use an app called floating speedrun timer for my timer.

I'm glad you're using android so that I didn't have to research stuff.
