Some beginner questions

Hello!

I’m interested in learning this run (Jill Any%), and as the title suggests, I have a few questions!

The first one is about how well I can run the game. Currently, I don’t have access to my gaming rig, so I’m stuck using a laptop with integrated graphics. The game seems to run fine at 720p/30FPS on low settings, so here’s the question: Is there anything in this run that is framerate-dependent?

I’m thinking of examples like RE2R, where knife damage is tied to the framerate, or Dishonored, where certain techniques can only be performed at specific framerates. Since I haven’t found a guide for RE1HD, I thought it would be best to ask.

My second question is about door skipping. For some reason, I can’t use Eleval’s practice tools (the game crashes when I start it). I’ve already tried launching in windowed mode and adjusting various resolution settings, but I just can’t get the injector to work.

After some research, I found two alternatives for door skipping: Fluffy’s tool, which seems to be the older method, and the "Ultimate Trainer" available on Nexus Mods (I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post links, so I’ll avoid doing that).

Can I use the Ultimate Trainer? It’s more convenient because it provides tools that could help me learn the run. If not, I’ll stick to Fluffy’s tool and won’t bother you about this again.

Lastly, do you recommend any resources or guides for learning this run? Other than watching other runs, are there any tips or advice you’d suggest?

Thanks for reading!

I'm not super experienced on this game but have still ran it and enjoyed watching WR streams from others, I think lower framerate is a disadvantage for stair skating, it's significantly slower as far as I'm aware on 30fps, then just general gameplay, menuing, interactions ect are worse. I'm not sure if having the trainer open with the game running is a good idea or even allowed. I had to downpatch the game to avoid certain memory crashes and I used an older version of Eleval's practice tool to use their door skip and it worked fine, there were just some other features of the tool that didn't work. Although with the introduction of the new LRT timing method, there's no disadvantage to using other door skip mods if you have to.

Thanks for the answer!

To be honest, if running the game at 30 FPS is just slower and doesn’t significantly break any mechanics, it’s not that big of a deal. At least I’ll still be able to practice! I’ll have access to my gaming rig later, so it won’t be a problem anymore. And it’s not like I’ll be attempting any world records anytime soon.
