You may not have noticed anything changing, but all times are now sorted by In-game Time instead of Real Time (where appropriate). We will still be recording Real Time as well in the case of ties or discrepancies.
Manipulation of the in-game timer through the use of Watch, Timekeepers, or the low% glitch is restricted in these categories. It's not banned in runs, but using them will disqualify your IGT, and your RTA time will be counted only. This is at the discretion of the mods.
I reserve the right to reverse this decision when it benefits me.
Since we just started using the Watch in Monsoon strats, I suppose we should discuss how to rule it.
Since the Unstable Watch and Time Keeper's Secret pause the timer for a predictable duration (7 seconds and 3+1n, respectively), we could simply add the number of seconds paused to the end time. The alternative is to only use RTA for watch strats so we don't end up in some slippery slope shit.
If you're using an autosplitter to get at IGT, it could automatically add the time on when one of these items is used.
Okay, the issue with simply adding the number of pauses is that the final use of the Watch is not the full 7 seconds; you end the game during the pause. So doing that does not give an accurate measure of the IGtime. And counting pause time RTA kinda defeats the purpose of the separation.
But you could detect that with an autosplitter, though I guess you guys aren't using one if the game has IGT. That said, if there is a (visible) igt, then finding a pointer to it with an autosplitter would be fairly easy.
We actually do have an autosplitter. Dex and I are brainstorming how we're (read: he's OpieOP) gonna fix this, just too lazy to actually do stuff.
If you die after activating the teleporter to leave to the next stage, you arrive at the next stage with a 0:00 timer and no items/exp. This way you can enter the spaceship at 0:00 and get a super easy Providence kill.
How do you die after leaving with the tele when you can't activate the tele until after all monsters are killed?
