Like, it's one thing regarding the Saturn and PS2 ports, but the arcade port having to be played -at- the arcade is pretty ridiculous. Like, how in the world would anyone do that?
As soon as I find a Virtua Racing cab I'll let you know. Emulator bans are in place namely because they are easily tampered with. I might make a section for strictly emu times if people really wish to compete on the emulator, but it will be separated from the real hardware and software.
i am interested on a emu leaderboard only reason being is 32X hardware is getting more difficult to find and i have no way to cap switch footage atm
A lot has changed since this thread was first created.
Kega Fusion and Retroarch are now permitted (so long as you show the run-ahead option is Off in Retroarch).
Also, WolfMAME is permitted for Arcade emulation.
I have another question about arcade emulation.
For me, using wolfmame is causing 3 main issues (i'm using a G27 wheel with a 270° wheel rotation) :
- Having to manually adjust deadzone each time i start the emulator. The reason why i adjust it is that MAME default deadzone is 0.3 (30%), which is horrendous to play. I play it on 0.02 (2%)
- Force Feedback (via the FFB Plugin) doesn't work at all, but works without issue on MAME.
- Playbacking inputs doesn't seems to work on my end.
If i want to submit time for the arcade part of Virtua Racing, can i do that without wolfmame while showing my runs are legit and not tampered in any way ? For example, i do have a recorded 3"17"340 on beginner (manual transmission) and without inputs.
