Other difficulties

Would lower difficulties be accepted? As in possibly a separate category. I feel that's where the difference between any% and all dungeons would really show.

Can we also add the other game modes in to add more variety?

I wasn't planning on adding different categories in the terms of difficulty. Now this is just my opinion of course, but I feel those who wish to speedrun FTK, should first master the game. Cause the only difference I see in an easier difficulty, is basically trying to get away with a lot more risks to save time. I personally would try to prevent any sort of risk taking to get a better time. To me, speedrunning a game should be all about limiting the risk down as much as possible while of course going fast. Otherwise your just trying to get lucky rather than build up the skill to speedrun consistently with whatever pattern people think is best.

As for the other game modes sure. I am more than happy to add the other modes for speedrunning.

I and a few others feel that having alternate categories for lower difficulties would greatly increase interest in running the game. It would even have a higher chance of appearing in GDQ since the lower difficulties are more consistent. Upon getting more interest in running the game, runners will likely look at doing Master runs. I do realize that currently there aren't enough runners to care, however I do strongly believe lower difficulty runs will increase the runner-base.

I haven't even considered GDQ. Even so, another desire of mine outside of speed running, is getting the game of FTK more well known. Oddly enough I never did consider using speed running as another way of getting this game more well known. With that said perhaps I should reconsider adding easier difficulties. Tho to prevent scaring people away with loads of empty categories like I did a year ago before I fixed it, I'll probably wait until people state either through PM or forums that they have a run done and ready to submit, before I add anything.

Is there a way to separate difficulties like this https://i.imgur.com/n4aZL6v.png instead of creating additional categories?

Yes, it's in the variables in the edit game, maybe Sheldon can add it.

Ooo yeah ok. Didn't even think of that. Thanks I'll probably do that

Right now different difficulties are in the same ranking xD. Variables should be sub-categories to have different rankings for each difficulty. https://i.imgur.com/Ci1NC39.png

I see, looks like I added sub-categories slightly wrong. Thanks for the help Ryex.
