I was watching the Gambler 500 - Forest Cleanup and tried doing some runs myself but noticed that the numbers didn't line up. There were piles where I would collect all of the trash, but older runs got more and didn't collect all of it.
It seems like in some update, the devs tweaked a few numbers, so in older versions some trash piles have more trash then in the newest version. Following the same route now, you are unable to finish with the same number of stops, requiring you to go farther and lose time.
Here is a Google Sheets I made of the older runs (note with this, it appears Ozercraft's recent run had this same thing, I just haven't added it to the sheet): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1N5V3nSfcwGQqlMI17BUV2ch_r1802fwtVGqJHpmj2Sw/edit?usp=sharing
If anyone has some time to investigate this themselves please do. It may be caused by graphics quality or maybe even some rng aspect, but I couldn't tell.
Also to be clear: I'm not saying these runs were cheated, I think they were all fully legitimate, just aren't competitive in the newest versions.
Oohh, so that's why I couldn't replicate Darkness's route, I thought it was a skill issue xD
weird, what version have you tested it on? (sorry for the very late reply, i didnt receive notification of your message)
