I think what if we have "Game B - R.O.B. the Robot%", we may have "Game B - Phases 1-25" and "Game B - Coop". Rules:

(Game B - Phases 1-25: Timing starts when you press start on Game B Timing ends when the end of level music starts after completing Phase 25. One player must use Controller 2 Everdirve or PowerPak may be used.)

(Game B - Coop: Timing starts when you press start on Game B Timing ends when the end of level music starts after completing Phase 25. Two players must use Controller 2; First player control blue pipes, second player control red pipes Everdirve or PowerPak may be used.)

I am also curious about this. I have some plans to run Game B in the very near future, and despite it being an easy speedrun, I still think it should have leaderboard representation.

In fact, I have a VERY unique speedrun of Game B that I'll be doing in a few days. Although I would like leaderboard representation for it, I'll be performing and posting it here regardless.

Not quite a full run, but my dog will do this.

Last night, my dog did this run, becoming the first ever dog to perform this speedrun.

I really hope he can get proper representation on the leaderboard! :)

Before I start spending several years working on her attention span, can a cat run the dog assistance category or is that against the rules?

Maybe even broader: can any non-sapient animal be used with dog assistance category, or only dog counts?

Grey parrots are going to dominate that category.

What about monkeys? Also i heard what crows of all birds are very smart.

Also, what about AI's, especially self-learning neural AI networks? Some of them are about as smart as animals, and they are also not sapient (as they can't complete Turing Test - and that is just start of tests needed to qualify AI as sentient), so they qualify. Some even use live neurons in them.

Maybe we should go with "domestic animal" for now.

If the rules continue to say "dog" and I can get my cat to complete a run, then we're just going to cheat a bit and submit it. Don't tell anyone.

As a serious request, can we get a "runner name" custom variable for that category so the dogs can get credit on the board?

Electronical AI's don't qualify, but what about living ones? These AI networks use living neurons for computing and learning; neurons usually taken from brains of domestic animals, like lab rats (but you could use neurons of other species - dog's for example). So, these things are alive in some way, technically cyborgs. So those kinds of AI's qualify as "domestic animals?

Beginning to wonder if you think my cat is a crazy hypothetical I'm making up here, but I think we can wait to consider whether or not rat neurons are allowed in the category until you have rat neurons you're training for the run.

Anyway, I placed a hori arcade stick in front of her (because the buttons are a good size) and in half an hour of play, she got halfway through the first level once, so I'll be back in a few months once we've worked on holding down the buttons for a specific amount of time.

Also, what about new category - Game B Co-Op and Game B - Phases 1-25.

Just like in Game A Co-Op and Game A - Phases 1-40; Game B Co-Op and Game B - Phases 1-25 would be played by multiple players and one player respectively (without animal's or ROB).

Rules:

  1. Timing starts when you press start on Game B (Both categories)
  2. Timing ends when the end of level music starts after completing Phase 25. (Both categories)
  3. Everdirve or PowerPak may be used. (Both categories)
  4. In "Co-Op", One player controls the professor while the other player controls the pipes.
  5. In "Phases 1-25", One player must use both controllers

I think that category would have some activity, due to it being very easy to play (and therefore not that hard to get on top of leaderboard). What do you think about it?
