I propose here a new category that reprsent better the concept of the game. I propose to add challenge mode category. In this mode, you must beat all challenge (in any order) and time on the finish line of ultimate challenge (must score at least 1 point)
Added it. I really wish Zoda would come back on, he knew more about this sort of thing than I do.
Can I propose a change to the ruleset? Ultimate is unlocked by getting 60 points, so the requirement to score a point in each challenge slows this run down by about 10 mins.
Also, ZodaStone ran Challenge Mode as a 100% category, requiring a 5 in each challenge and a 25 on ultimate.
Suggest that we either split Challenge Mode in to Any% and 100% categories (where any% drops the 'score in all challenges' requirement, or that Challenge Mode requires 100%.

Hey all! Yeah been off speedrunning for quite a while... I never really thought about what "Challenge Mode Any%" would be, whether it should include getting a score in every challenge or not. Perhaps a split in categories along those lines would be best, a "Challenge Mode Any%" and a "Challenge Mode All Levels" (along with 100%).

So would the goal for Any% just be to trigger the credits? I'm not entirely sure what the exact criteria are for making that happen.
Edit: Looks like credits are actually tied to getting 100%, so scratch that idea. So right now I'm looking at three categories:
"Any%": Score a point on Ultimate, no other restrictions. I believe this would be done fastest by skipping Offense E, Defense D, and Defense E. And then getting a 5 on all other missions. "All Levels": Score at least one point on all 16 levels. "100%": Get a score of 100.
Thoughts? Should we include both "Any%" and "All Levels"?
Think we should just have Any% and 100%.
All Levels won't be significantly faster than 100%; you could go a little faster in Defense C and Ultimate and that's about it.
Alright, I adjusted the Challenge Mode categories. Also added in Grand Prix categories at all three difficulty levels, because why not.
I'd like to propose a small change to the timing rules for Challenge Mode: instead of starting the timer when exiting the Display/Sound menu, start the timer when selecting the new file. To me it makes sense that any menuing that involves selecting Defense A or Trouble A (instead of Offense A) should be part of the timed run.
Just a thought on the three Grand Prix modes, should we have the difficulty as a sub category rather than as 3 full categories.
Just thinking there's not many people running this game, don't want to spread too thin
