The game isn’t meant to be paused. If you can’t enjoy the game without pausing it then the game isn’t for you. It’s not gatekeeping or exclusionary, it’s just not made for you. And I didn’t say anything bad or argumentative. I simply stated if you want a pausable game buy one that’s made that way because these games haven’t been designed that way since the first they made. It’s okay to admit the game isn’t made for you.
