When we getting a new mod? There are currently two at moment. One which is probably not cooking eggs or even thinking about Billy. The other just approves runs. Changes need to be made to make this more appealing to new runners and not look like Chicks place in the current route of Any%, nonexistent.
Thanks :)
I am in the discord. IL leaderboard needs to be changed to be honest. Needs to be timed in real time and not in game time. KBC will continue to be not used because for in-game time it with kbc it skips cutscenes. Cutscenes are not included in the time.
Certain levels are limited by IGT, but I would say a healthy amount of the KBCs save IGT time also (5-2, 1-1, 1-5, 1-6, 6-2, 7-1). The only levels I can think of offhand where timesave is lost due to IGT timing are (1-3 & 5-3).
I agree that it sucks that some of these new strats are not available to be showcased in the ILs, however, the convenience of being able to know an exact time immediately without having to retime your ILs is very beneficial. We can get down to centisecond comparisons without having to run our own independent timers, which I think makes for a more alive and competitive IL scene.
The lack of hassle is a big component in my opinion, but I understand the reasoning for making sure the ILs have the fastest strats. Theoretically we could have an RTA time alongside the IGT time in order to compare the strats, but we would have to retime the levels, and we do not currently have an exact time to start the RTA timer yet.
Start the RTA timer... So like the when the in-game timer starts? That's the simple part. The tough part is timing the ending
Okay. So then tell me, what will bring in more people? Cause honestly, seems like there aren't any mods to begin with.
What might bring in more people is active streams that a broader audience would be able to view to build interest, it might not. I dont get what youre goal is here, I understand competition can make speedruns more fun but this is literally what happens with every lesser known game. People who moderate leaderboards are there because they are trusted to verify the authenticy of submitted runs in a timely manner, not shove the idea of speedrunning a game down everyones throat, which doesnt help get people to run the game anyway in general
