If you have suggestions for the route PLEASE POST IT HERE
Heres the link to the route: http://www.speedrun.com/sssv/guide/43qt2
It's a very interesting idea though I'm thinking that you collected 204 so you could perhaps skip 3 in one of the levels that you diverted to get them if possible, but I guess for safety that would be dumb until we start getting the route more optimal. I may try this if I can cut my any% time.
Edited the route notes to make the option available to skip over the frame perfect cutscene skip in Honeymoon Lagoon for anyone who may be interested (My 1:34:52 was done without the Honeymoon lagoon Cutscene Skip)
There are now 4 levels with backup power cells listed.
(I meant more I'd practice this as soon as my any% runs are like 1:50 instead of 1:57 XD) It's an interesting concept of a run anyway, and may take more thought process than the others due to every level affecting each other due to the 200 needed power cells. XD
Yeah it was a lot of fun to route, I have it routed so every level only takes 2:00-3:30. pretty well optimized so far. I'll have a video up later this week for reference too. This will be added as a category too so there will be active leaderboards for it soon.
Also Marxvile since you play on PAL it will always be a good bit slower, your 1:55:40 translates to 1:36:23 in NTSC(obviously movement is a little easier in PAL but thats what it wouldve been)
I guessed, I deduced it after I got the time but because of my tendencies of doing things too early (leap of fox is one) I feel like NTSC may ironically be better for me in terms of accuracy in tricks too so I've been looking at that XD I guess I could aim for 1:50 still XD
As for the topic of this thread, I may look at it later this week then and see if there are undiscovered things that may be useful (I know that you've done a lot of stuff on this, so it won't be long, probably just going to be me being unuseful like I was in Jungle Japes XD)
Please do! The more people that get interested in this category the more it can become optimized :)
Have you read through it? Does it seem easy to understand? Fat Bear Mountain and Weight For I!t have pretty long explanations I was a little worried about that.
I think I do, if I have time tomorrow I'll do a blind playthrough of some of the levels using this as a guide and report back :)
There is a problem with submitting runs for Silver Evo! It makes you enter something in every player box rather than just needing to enter 1 player(yourself) otherwise it says "you didn't enter enough players"
I had a tiny look at the routes (mainly the 2 levels you thought were hardest to understand from what you wrote - Weight For It! and Fat Bear Mountain) and think that you explained them pretty well tbh. I got what you were meaning after a minute of looking around, so perhaps for newer players or something it may be worth making a tutorial of a per level basis?
I can do ILs if you want and compile them on a level by level thing as I learn the 99% routes too XD But they'll be slower than yours for sure.
Edited the route, thanks mcill for pointing out how dumb I am for my engine room route. I just realllly wanted to use leap of dog xD
The 3 power cells in engine room from computers have been changed to have 2 in Rocky Hard Place and 1 more in Hot Cross Buns.
mcill, I know there are some problems with the route that i havent found solutions for.. thats what your here for! help me out!
An Abomination!!! I'm looking at things right now. I had to do the route before I could comment on anything. I just really feel like getting those power cells over other ones (eg ratomatic under the pipe) is a tragedy.
I changed the route...More changes coming soon -1 from Sting In The Tail +1 to Rat-O-Matic
More changes: -1 Borassic Park -1 Pinball Blizzard +1 Weight For It! +1 Ice 'n' Easy Does It
After almost a year ive gone back and taken a look at the route for this category. it seems that there are definitely some quiestionable power cells and certain things that need to be timed. I want to continue working on this route soon.
oh god i just realized that doing the biker hyena launch only removes 1 power cell from the route. so of course thats what well be doing now.
