Hi all,

Super sorry if this is already known. I'm new to messing with this game and the wealth of info out there is staggering, so feel free to lock if I'm just noobing it up here. I just know that in all the runs I've seen, everyone goes through the dog maze, gets the statue crests (or whatever they are), and plays it "fair."

Totally by accident, I did a save last night at the last typewriter before this section, loaded my game today to practice, then found that the door where Ada first appears was already open. FWIW, PC Ultimate Edition 60 FPS on Easy.

It's cause you play on easy. A few areas in the castle are not available on easy mode.

Castle key area in 3-1 Dog Maze in 3-2 Knights room in 4-1 Clocktower in 4-1

I just went way back in order to mess with it and discovered it was still open. Thanks for clarification.

When I first saw the title of this thread I was thinking there had to be no way to skip the section anyhow unless you play on Easy or Amateur, and after having read the post of TC that was it. :)

You can't go into the maze on Easy but the door stays open all along as Phaero said, apart from the maze part in chapter 3-2 you have got some others you can skip on Easy such as the Knight's room and clocktower in chapter 4-1.
