So, on the news section on the switch, Nintendo announced that they are going to release "free software updates on April 26th" for Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild so Nintendo Labo VR (a new labo kit coming out soon) will work with those games. a) We might be getting a new version of Odyssey with more patched glitches, presumably 1.3.0, and b ) we might be able to have new categories for the new challenges or moons or whatever in the VR version.
Just thought I might put that out there. Does anyone else think that this new update will patch any useful glitches (like Moon cave skip, klepto skip, moon clip, e.t.c.) or not, and what will we do about it if Nintendo does?
(p.s. April 26th is the date on the Australia and New Zealand news section. Dates probably will differ for different parts of the world)
If it makes running slower, there will probably be a new category.
Peut-être mais c'est malgré un bon jeu. Maybe but it is still a good game
If 1.3.0 changes something significantly, then it would definitely call for a new sub-category (or whatever the mods plan to do in that situation).
its VR and not all poeple have VR so why would it do something to the not VR game
Well if Nintendo simply MUST patch some glitches, they will hopefully leave the speedrunning ones alone.
Load times are 25-33% faster
I don't know enough about the game to know if this is an optimal patch
Wow. Given those improved loading times, I wouldn't be surprised if 1.3.0 becomes a Subhour viable category.
1.3 digital is now the fastest version for any%
How much faster is 1.3 digital than 1.3 physical because i'm not paying $80 for a game that I already have if it's, like, 3 seconds faster. Also, how much faster is 1.3 compared to 1.0?
And having the current version of SMO being the fastest is also nice, so anyone can run to the full extent without having to delete everything and reinstalling everything.
According to Okra's sheet (tinyurl.com/yxt6fjdv), digital saves about 11.25 seconds over physical. Maybe worth it for a top tier runner.
