it's possible to get 5 pir and 7 hypnosis but it wouldn't save a turn. also requires an incredibly tight TP gain. so as of right now 6/6 is looking like the go-to consistent strat (13 turns since 1st turn is def/def/def)
i personally don't know the values of pir/hyp individually.
Every single diamond has it's own individual hitbox (they are reused for attacks in both the overworld and in battles) so there is a small gap where you can slip through at the correct angle.
There is currently an issue with Deltarune with certain PCs that causes the game to run at the refresh rate of the monitor in Fullscreen, rather than the standard 60fps the game runs at. This causes the game to speed up drastically, and is entirely dependent on monitor refresh rate. For instance, I have a 144hz monitor so this bug makes my game run at almost double speed.
Since Toby is actively working to fix this issue, the mod team has decided to ban the use of this exploit. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and for it not being addressed sooner.
For the time being, if you are affected by this bug please avoid using fullscreen, as to not provide an unfair advantage. If the game is too small for you, you can download a free program called AutoSizer that can resize small games like Deltarune (and Undertale, by extension) to a bigger window size.
Feel free to ask any questions.
When you kill Muffet, there is an extremely lengthy unskippable cutscene where a smaller spider scrolls on screen, back off, and then gets a flower and does it again. It's like 20~ seconds. Since you need to abort Genocide at some point in Core, and because the spider donut instantly spares Muffet without the cutscene, doing this is the fastest way to progress.
There isn't really a strict advantage, outside of being on the latest patch and being the first version to receive patches, but the PC version has much better accessibility and supports multiple controllers, as well as keyboard.
It's generally just the overall more comfortable version for most runners and you aren't locked into Switch-only controllers.
I come from a community where half of the mods are inactive and haven't run the game longer than Celeste has BEEN a game. I totally agree and think that the mod team should reflect the active speedrun community rather than one that could potentially hold on to archaic methods of handling decisions in the future.
yes, 1.05 is currently the fastest version due to a 7ish second timesave in the Asgore cutscene (the text isn't timed properly for the music)
can i macro a 9 turn pls
No but a serious answer, if you bind WASD to movement in Undertale (which is allowed) you should be able to get past the ghost-rollover that a lot of keyboards have built in, since it's usually 4 for letter keys and 2 for arrow keys. If not that, then you could hold W and A with one hand and right + down with another hand. I know it's not ideal, but it's at least something, and I had to do this on my old laptop.
