I know that the mods said that ePSXe is the only legal emulator for runs of the game via emulation. But I’m wondering if we can also other Emulators into the list too sometime like DuckStation or Beetle PSX HW?

DuckStation is fine too. That was a rule that one of the former moderators had that I never got around to changing.

To add onto this, I brought this up in the discord. Would we be in favor of separating Dreamcast EMU onto its own board so people can still run the best version of the game if they don't own a Dreamcast or would rather play on emulator for whatever reason?

Sorry, i’m not sure I understand what you’re asking. Dreamcast emulator is allowed as well. If you’re asking about separating each category by platform, I can do that & would certainly be in favor of it.

Oh, wait really? I just assumed they weren't because nobody ever submitted a DC-emu run of the game.

It might have been an old rule that a previous moderator had which would explain the lack of DC emulator runs, but Dreamcast emulators are fine by me. If someone finds that there is a noticeable difference in load times or an emulator specific time-save is discovered, then I can just separate emulator & official hardware.

ReDream itself loads 2 seconds faster than Podgy's Dreamcast WR run.
