New rules about categories

Well, i've been thinking about only having FCs categories, that doesnt make sense, no one is going to do a vocals expert FC, what the hell, and also enable all difficulties other than expert, because not everyone can do it, i would be happy to do a guitar/drum/bass run, but full combo makes no sense to me, its too perfectly to do, you should change it, and separate only a guitar Full game full combo cause its the most usual to see peole trying... and also think obviously it would bring even more people to it... i really hope you guys understand what i am saying.. thanks..

Other difficultys are allowed lmao. Also fcs make alot more sense because if it was only passing then it would just be an auto scroller.

You cant fail on rock band?

So i can put a run even if i dont get 100% of the musics? Thats what i am talking about

I just beat the game... and noticed that all instruments are equal in time.. so dont make sense to have 5 categories for guitar/bass/drums/vocals/band Since theres no difference at all in the timer and setlist... it should be a, any% (beat all songs with any instruments or band) and a Full game Full combo (for any instruments also) It would be waay better organized and it would make a lot of sense... (you could separate the band tour from the any% but i actually think this isnt needed)

Rock Band speedruns in general are catered to players that are highly experienced with the game. Within that crowd, the overwhelming consensus is that Any% is pointless in the context of a list-style Rock Band mode, since there isn't really any inherent challenge or routing to it (if you're failing songs, why run it at all?). Aside from resetting a song during a long cutscene there's no way to optimize things any further; it's basically just a glorified autoscroller.

Full Game Full Combo speedruns on the other hand are a long test of consistency and require sufficient skill with the game. While there's a hard line where things can't be optimized further, a "perfect" FGFC run requires an unlikely level of concentration and consistency, as opposed to an Any% run that requires the absolute bare minimum from the player.

While that sounds like a high bar for newcomers, Beatles in particular is actually one of the more doable titles in this regard compared to others, as it's considered one of the easier FGFCs across the board.

In the end, I don't see a need for an Any% category, as it's simply too redundant relative to a casual playthrough.

This makes no sense... but its ok you are the "moderator" and the game will stand dead, i dont freaking care how easy or hard it is Thats why guitar hero games have a lot more of people playing it... fuck full game full combo, let the people who dont work do that.. i dont have time for this shit

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Instead of only separare for people who wants to do this fgfc (which would be a 100%) and people who dont want to I literally wanted to see how fast we can go, (speedrun is what its called, right? and what we love..) But anyways guess we have to wait for people who actually give a shit about the speedruning community, moderate it.. Yeah i cant do expert/hard full combo, congratulations for you to do so... but not everybody will be able to do it... thats why every freaking game has its easiest categories (when it can obviously, and this game can)

And i will ask again, do you think anyone will try to do vocals fgfc? How stupid this sound... you need to reevaluate your thoghts in this game and think about other people, because i could certanly do easy/medium fgfc but i wont, i dont give a damn about it.. it is just a test of pacience... makes no sense to me, but others do

And even if i lose the argument, which i think will happen... i still think that separate every fgfc of instruments is kinda pointless (just filter it for instruments)... it makes no sense having 1000 categories and only 2 runs .. im trying to raise the game but its difficult like that

Ok, YOU dont want to put a any%, thats ok.. but at least organize that shit to look more "professional"

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

One more thing.. i just literally looked over every rock band game, and they ALL have a category besides full game full combo.. so i dont know what the beatles has that others dont.. but i strongly feel you should at least think about it

The other Rock Band games feature tour modes where you're given choices for song selection and how to progress. It's not a particularly compelling hook for speedrunning but it at least somewhat justifies the category existing, as it introduces routing possibilities.

The Beatles: Rock Band's story mode is nothing like that. It's just playing the whole setlist from beginning to end. It is as rigid as it gets. Rock Band 1's singleplayer mode functions very similarly and its leaderboard is a ghost town, likely because every other potential runner came to the same conclusion that it's just a normal no-frills playthrough of the game with virtually zero variance in playtime. The bottom line is there is just no competive value to an Any% category for this game.

And as a side note, the instruments are their own boards because they feature different skill sets; it also allows a runner that's done more than one category to be properly represented on the leaderboards. If you have a problem with that then you won't like the board for Green Day: Rock Band (the game most similar to TBRB) because it's laid out the same way.

[Also accusing someone of not "giving a damn" about the game they moderate in DMs is not a good look. Get a better attitude.]
