I mean, since the demo's out now might as well. Also because right now we have no catgories so thats also why I think this should be a thing.
I mean, no real reason not to put it as an IL or something for now- And if we found out that the same exact levels are in the full game, we can just move the runs or whatever. Won't hurt to try
In addition to IL, maybe a full demo% category for both levels?
From what I can gather, these levels seem to pull rooms from other levels throughout the final game, but there's nothing stopping us from just adding "Grasslands" and "Cave and Castle" as IL runs or something like that
Seems like there's enough interest in those from pretty much everyone here.... Besides the mods, both of which have yet to run the demo . Not sure if this is just dissing demo speedruns but all we really want is at least temporary boards for now.
I don't think they need to be added, I ran Easy & Hard today but don't feel the need to submit my run especially as it excludes NA currently. We are very lucky to already get a feel for the movement and start practicing some content that may be in the game and already have a headstart in that regard. I dunno just feels like the leaderboard would be there just for the sake of accolade; and speedrunning has always meant, at least to me, the discovery of fastest routes through a game, a full one at that and then the execution of it.
You can always speedrun the demo without any kind of leaderboard. If you think there needs to be a leaderboard for the demo levels, you're missing the point of speedrunning entirely. It's also going to be obsoleted in two weeks. It's just not notable enough to add. The current moderators for this game have been speedrunning and helping moderate, especially Kirby games, for a very long time and know exactly what they're doing. It's not a 'diss' to those running the demo, it's a matter of fostering a community properly.
I think what you're looking for are people who are interested in running the game and will admit this site doesn't do a very good job of doing that right now.
By NA being excluded, I guess ai_telivion means that there is no NA demo (probably due to that March 4th rumor thing, which might be true considering the other regions). You can still download the EU or JP demo on an NA Switch, which is what I did personally.
I mean, doesnt everyone change regions anyway to get better prices on the eShop? I´m from Argentina, we dont even have an eShop here _(°u°)_/
Did some Grasslands runs, apparently got a WR by a few milliseconds, don't have a proper retiming program but from what I got it was 3:46.070, could be retimed again.
Cutter is faster on ground for low dash attack delay, and more consistent for sure. Fire is mostly good for final climb to avoid a part where you need to use floating which is really slow, and quickkills Whispy.
Also, I found this video, it seems to be the WR, The Japanese version definitely allowed for faster turorial popup canceling, since it saves roughly 4-8 seconds over the run it seems. (Nintendo can we stop this trend in 2018)
yeah, there should be a demo%, starts when you enter the easy level and ends when you get the final hit on king dedede
demo%.. OMEGALUL
please don't poison this leaderboard with that.....
I already did a speed run of Kirby star allies demo forest levels. i finished it in 06:04.70 on the stop watch. but my mom was a little finicky, so they arent totaly acurate, but a good estimate.
now that the game is out I feel like no need for a demo category- the game's a must buy anyway ?
