Upon the advice of the overarching admin, I've taken the decision to split the ST and Amiga categories.

One group for both, two separate categories to submit a run to.

It's just simpler this way.

For those (few) of you who have been checking out the records, you may note that for the last 12 months, I have included both the Atari ST and Amiga versions of Robocop onto the same leaderboard.

The overall hope was that with both games being (apparently) identical, this could see them incorporated into a singular leaderboard for greater competition.

I can't, however, ignore that there is ONE pretty important difference between the two. Namely, level 4.

Level 4 has a section which, for reasons unclear, the Amiga version treats as a conveyor belt whereas the Atari ST does not. This results in the Amiga version, for this ONE SINGULAR BLOODY TECHNICALITY, being around 4 seconds faster than the Atari ST.

As such, I've contacted the main overarching admin of 'Robocop' on Speedrun.com and have requested the creation of a separate category for the Amiga version.

It sucks, and I really hoped it wasn't necessary. Hell, it was more of an ego massage to have two different categories (which I didn't want!). Ultimately though, such a massive time difference can't be ignored.

Hi anyone who might happen to read this.

I originally created this group solely for the Atari ST version. Following extensive testing, however, I have found that through the utilisation of the in-game level/stage timer, there's no reason at all why the Amiga version can't also be added here.

I predominantly did this for a few reasons (which I'll keep brief)

1 - Both versions are essentially identical 2 - The use of the level time removes any problems with submitted runs on actual or emulated software (which may reduce load times making RTA impossible/impractical 3 - Emulation of both platforms are pretty terrible, but Amiga is typically better.

So, pending conversations with the overall admin of Robocop central, this will soon be both an ST and Amiga group - HUZZAH!
