Since the emulator category is getting new runners, it's worth changing the rules on runs to prevent cheating. The biggest potential problem I see is people using voice clip playback to get consistent results, since the Nintendogs mic can be finicky on emulator. The main DS emulator that supports Nintendogs (melonDS) also supports voice clip playback.
Thus, in order to prevent cheating with voice clips, runners should be required to have their mic on at ALL TIMES during the run. They don't have to be speaking the whole time, but having the mic on will ensure that they are actually speaking, and allow moderators to compare the differences and similarities between the real person speaking and the result on Nintendogs. That way, if someone pretends to speak in their mic but secretly plays a voice clip, we can detect that cheating since the Nintendogs playback will be the same all three times despite the mic input being different all three times.
Any suggestions, feedback, concerns, or even a way we can get this to the attention of the mod would be greatly appreciated.
edit: to be clear, I don't believe anyone has cheated. But since this game requires mic inputs, this is a good change to make to prevent cheating in the future.
