So, in the start of Peach's Secret slide you can jump then press B to dive. With this way you can slide extra fast. Then once you reach the end of the stage in the EXACT same frame you hit the final stair of the star platform press B. you will open the star box and will be launched into a wall. Then press A to do a wall kick, and finally jump to grab that precious star.

Can you send a video of doing the strat? It's a little difficult to imagine.

Just from reading, it seems like your strat is way slower. I'm not sure when what we do now was made, but it has been a loooong time. This game is incredibly optimized with many talented people working to make this game perfect. I think if there was a faster strat for the slide, it would have been found by now.

I know the first part is cut and I didn't give it a name but I did this as fast as I possibly could. But here's what I did.

As far as i can tell sliding on the belly is not faster than sliding on the butt (at least not significantly), also the shortcut shown in the video posted by JoJoker02 cannot be used if you start by sliding on the belly. currently a good slide during a run is below 13 seconds, which cannot be reached without the shortcut.

I’m pretty sure speed runners get a 12.3 on the secret slide. You got a 13.1.

It's the same strat, but less corner-cutting. The strat Joker showed is exactly the same as what Simply and Dwhatever do, just a little bit less optimized. Getting a slide time under 13 seconds is difficult. I've been learning SM64 for about a year, and my slide time is around 13.1 still.

My PB for slide is 14.9 last time I tried

Ah, I see diving is faster I kept doing ground pound
