You don't seem to benefit from it, so it's acceptable 100% as long as you unpause as soon as possible.

New categories will probably be added in the future,I guess this is important. The verification standards I'm using are the same as they were before I was a mod. WRs need video proof to be added on the leaderboards, tied or not. For some reason, it didn't happen the same for Any% NSE but this is gonna get fixed. I'd like to keep those standards for new categories.

@lachy3923 I accepted your run because it has a lot of things which can be faster, but as I stated, it could be deleted, as it's already happened with other rejections.

I don't really know about autosplitter, but I guess your 3DS should be linked to your PC somehow. Also, as far as I know, 3DS have the same loading times as DSi and DS, but I may be wrong.

This category seems fun and it'll probably be added. But I honestly don't really feel comfortable in adding even more categories right now, especially a particular/kinda arbitrary one like this, and I'm quite sure this is not gonna be ran a lot, at least within a fair amount of time. There are already 2 categories which have 0 runs. What do you think?

I think stars are considered powerups, but they don't last forever. I guess they aren't.

As long as the loading times differencies estimate is accurate, there's no reason to deeply analyze two really close runs, I guess. Talking about going for IGT, as ewaller stated, we should keep in account hits/powerups and transitions, and we would cancel part of the RNG, that would serve exclusively for comparing executions and not for leaderboards purposes (unless we'd want to change times from RTA to IGT).

The 3rd option is the most viable one, as long as that 48s estimate is accurate, I think. Also, GregLvk EMU's estimate seems wrong too, if the new VC one is right.

Yes, it's a nice way to time runs in game having issues like loading times. But there are already 25 runs on the leaderboards.

I'm probably not understanding, but didn't you say that red blocks/hammer bros move on the world map at same speed? Do you mean that VC has generally better RNG?

Btw yes, the more people work on this the better.

Another runner did a comparison some time ago, stating that VC times are faster by roughly 35 seconds. I guess he didn't include all the loading times needed to do a correct comparison if you're right. There isn't actually no problem around who has the better run, it will easy to estimate. The issue here is rather how much we should add on VC runs.

I personally think downvoting is really important as long as who is downvoting gives a reason.

So ye, I HIGHLY encourage downvoting as much as I do with voting, as long as people give a v a l i d reason and really know what they're voting/downvoting for.

I had already an idea to set this loading time thing properly, now it's time to make it a real thing. Just a couple of things: do red blocks move faster on the overworld map on VC compared to DS? does the blue shell spinning speed is really faster than normal running speed on VC? If VC is faster than DS, even w/o loading times; a solution won't be that straightforward (we'd may go for IGT + transitions).

Nice to see new strats. Also, what do you mean for "getting the blue shell more consistently"? Execution itself or increasing the change of getting a blue shell there? If that's the last one I'm even more glad.

Tried Jumpyluff's idea. Put the exit variant just in levels that actually have an alternative exit, and modified run submissions until 2-A.
