Couple of questions

  1. While I think threaten is a -very- great idea here, for a smaller game like the coup, perhaps it'd be an idea to have a separate category for not using threaten. (Actually fighting for the win, like the warrior you are (: )
  2. What real harm is there in using a custom character? There's not really much difference that i can tell other than the stat setup.
  3. Maybe have a category for going from free officer rising up the ranks to get to commander, strategist, etc.

Hey a12helton. I think you make some great points!

  1. Done. When first routing this game, I actually fought until I remembered the threaten option, which turned the game into complete RNG, so I agree on this.
  2. Custom characters allow for specific setups (ex. Wired Gloves/Lu Bu's/Xu Shu's Musou/Yue Ying's rage for super quick rage and musou). However, I will add a subcategory for custom characters, but only the player can be a custom character (in order to prevent someone theoretically creating a bunch of weak custom characters and having them replace the normal ones).
  3. Sounds like a very tough and RNG heavy category if you mean going through each specific rank (Free Officer->Officer->Prefect->Marshal/Strategist->Ruler) as frequently you are promoted past a position. If you mean just starting the game as a free officer and finishing as a ruler, that category can be added if you want.

Thanks for the feedback, Glad to hear about the first part, the second part was mainly because I enjoy the bow in the game, but not necessarily the character that uses it, and i always use either the power or speed setups, as the bow has that silly double jump mechanic. and the third i was thinking like the achievements are, i think be appointed strategist, and i think there's one for be the successor also.

Also i wanted to point out that there's no restrictions on bonus points. at least not that i've seen. it's be silly to have a run where you use your points for teir 6 weapons and starting 50 levels higher. I think perhaps we should have it restricted to no bonus's they all can lead to a -very- early overwhelming advantage (also no difficulty that i've noticed either, which is fine from a speedrun perspective)

Any thoughts on that MrJanwar? I mean, I'm not opposed to allowing beginner with +50 levels and teir 6 weapons, it'll make for faster runs, but at the same time it would require setup by gathering points if you don't have them

Yeah I agree, I added the no bonus points part to the rules, as it would just be tedious gathering points.

Hey a12helton, nice job on the run. Can you crop it so only the run is in the video or that it starts at the time when you begin?

also the difficulty questions wasn't answered that i seen

Yeah gonna stick with beginner for now, a lot of games use lowest difficulty unless there's lots of people playing, so we'll stick with that precedent for now. If tons of people show up submitting runs, I'll add different difficulty subsections.
