If you have any questions of the moderators, for example to know whether your death in a "No Up+A" run is okay or not, feel free to chime in here. I'd like submitting to this board to be a stress free experience, particularly for newer runners. We're happy to answer questions and put you at ease.

Are clone NES Systems regarded as actual console, or emulator?
I can't really find much on this topic other than "It's not official hardware and would likely get put under emulators" which is a valid argument, but what is like the actual verdict of moderation for these?
I recently obtained a Classiq N. Im not sure if it's just this one that could be accurate or not, or perhaps another one could be more accurate, or that its too much of a headache to even bother with it and put it under emulation. idk honestly.
What about the MiSTer? I noticed the Zelda 2 community seems to have embraced the MiSTer as a selectable platform on their leaderboard but it hasn't been done here yet for some reason, was this an oversight from not having many runners using it or for some other reason?
I've been unofficially speed running this game with my dad for years now and we do a sort of any% glitch less run. I'm wondering which category would be closest to that and if y'all would add a category similar if you don't have one already.
Check out the TDO Glitchless category on the extensions leaderboard: https://www.speedrun.com/zelda1ce
Is the category any% tg rules” interrupted as: beat the game without using any glitches or “cheats”, as in playing the way it was meant to be played?
Is there a 100% category with same stipulations?
its basically beating the game, and timing it, and using all of Twin Galaxies rules for completion, in which they didnt allow any glitches.
"Beat the game. Don't die, save, or use any sequence breaking tech, such as: Block clip/screen scroll Opening doors without a key Wrong warps, such as Roocorder Keeping Bait from Hungry Goriya Arbitrary Code Execution"
https://www.speedrun.com/zelda1ce/forums/b32yk explaination for glitches here.
currently there is no 100% catagory for this. probably the only reason this came up as a catagory in the first place was because at the time we were trying to disprove what was a fake speedrun on twin galaxies site. showing that using modern advancements in the speedrun, and new game knowledge, that it was barely possible to beat the time that the other player had previously posted. (the only surviving footage was just of his level 9 to ganon, and his spawns were all messed up)
No 100% glitchless category at this time. Even though we defined our 100% category over 10 years ago according to widely accepted 100% rules for speedrunning and almost everyone is fine to run them, there were folks who wanted different collection rules. I made alternate 100% rules based on their feedback and still they weren't happy. As a result, I'm hesitant to accept input from the community about 100% categories. But you're not the first to ask for hundo glitchless. If you want it to be a category that I would add to zelda1ce, run it according to the glitch rules in the post RenterJack linked, and according to the 100% collection definiton in 100%.
With the release of the new Nintendo "Game & Watch" which includes an official emulation port of the NES and Famicom "The Legend of Zelda" these versions are allowed for speedrunning purposes, because as far as we can tell, they play exactly the same as the NES versions (subject to change if other d
