Hey!
I used to love playing this game and recently found my old PC CD-ROM for it. After installing and playing for a little bit, I've encountered a glitch that is making the game incompletable. After looking on the internet, I couldn't find a fix. But I see that the glitch isn't present in the speedruns posted here.
The "glitch" is that the lory in Episode 6, Mission 1 drifts wildly all over the place and continually crashes. This means that I am unable to complete the mission within the time limit. As I already said, the speedruns posted don't have this issue and I'm wondering if there is a known fix.
Thanks very much! (I'm also interested in running this game after I complete a casual play-through)
Yup, this is an issue with the PC version if you don't lock the frame rate below 60 fps. The game doesn't have anything to prevent newer computers being able to run it at much higher frame rates and it messes with the physics. I used RTSS Rivatuner Statistics Server (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html) in order to lock the frame rate at 60 for the speedrun.
Thank you so much for this! It also fixed some audio issues I was having, this is a huge improvement!
I wasn't able to get the framerate limiter to work with sitting ducks, RTSS isn't showing up in sitting ducks at all, but it seems to work for all other games, is there certain settings that need to be enabled or something for it to work on sitting ducks?
We got it to work by putting the game in Windows 7 Compatability and RTSS limiting to 60, and having the game run as administrator. :-)
