So my new 77k PS2 won't read my disc 1 on startup but I can start with disc 2 and switch to disc 1 and it works fine. So I was wondering if I have to eat the time loss on disc swap or if I could start my timer when the "please wait" screen starts to fade away instead of on New Game in Legit% category?

Well it's weird, now that I try today it reads disc 1 at the start, LOL. Maybe just delete the thread

Oh right, it's like 50% chance it will work. Common issue if you close the disc tray too fast before launching. I usually change the settings (fast/smooth) and go to browse menu and then wait 3 seconds after pressing the disc. Seems to work. If it loads the disc too fast it softlocks before loading the game. It's very common with LOD.
