Hello! Can I use a outside software like AutoHotkey before the actual run starts? I need it to reset timer, create a new world, set the difficulty, and start the game.
PlatinumWorldd, he means to hit a button and have a script set up a world for him, to make it easier to reset. lort_Z, I would think that's fine, the only iffy part is actually entering the world, but nothing actually affects the run differently than if you did it manually. (just saying my thoughts)
Yes, I use livesplit as timer, but don't want to do though whole procedure of resetting manual.
No, you cannot use scripts for it. Scripts in general usually aren't allowed for runs, just create a world with your hands lol
SpeedNintendo, but it only works before the wold start generating. It is not a part of a run, right?
it's still kinda eh, and it doesn't take much effort to make a world so it's not needed
lort_Z I'd say it's a gray area. On the one hand all scripts are banned from actual runs and since there has to be footage of the creation of the world and of setting the difficulty you couldn't hide the script, thereby making it obvious you're using one wich could cause suspicion. On the other hand timing for the run starts on the first input and what happens before is not part of the run, therefore it's technically legal to use one for it, if you want to be suuuper specific. To me the cons outweigh the pros since as the others have mentioned it only takes around a second to create a world manually and set the difficulty, especially once you're used to doing so. Also your runs would have a much higher chance of being called fake or scripted if you're actually using a script just before the run starts.
oh wow how speedrunning has evolved
(oof forgot wait sorry for huge necropost)
And what mods do you use for speedrun in minkratf?
I'm trying to find one here, but I can't - https://99minecraft.com/
