When trying to speedrun I have noticed that as soon as I load in, the timer is already at 1-2 seconds. When I look at other speedruns though I see that they load in with their timer being at 0 seconds. Is there any way to fix this or am I just at an inherent disadvantage?
It happens to me as well sometimes, also just the lag when loading into the tower gets annoying too.
Timer script changed like almost exactly a year ago and it's done this since . Server sided timer has caused a lot of problems for speedrunning honestly . Will start removing load times from categories that need it
I've noticed (for me, at least) that if you start a run from the portal, you won't get any timer lag, but if you restart a run while already in the tower, you get the 1-2 seconds of delay. Moving platform cycles will also lag behind by 2 seconds on a restart than they otherwise would on a portal start. It's pretty annoying. (Of course, all of this also depends on how much stuff is in the tower/citadel. If you have something like CoHAD, you're pretty much always gonna have intense lag for 10 seconds at the beginning no matter what.)
Now that Roblox has added the option to change your FPS cap in the settings, speedrunning up to 240 FPS is now Allowed. Yippee !
To Be Clear: Memory writing below 60 FPS for things like lag clips is still not allowed cause that takes external software
