SM64 has runs separated by the devise that was used. That sounds like a good idea to me for this game as well. I don't think that any arbitrary numerical exchange should be a thing. Also, lag gives you more time to recover, so I'm also not in favour of just subtracting the loading times regardless of their length - in addition to the fact that this would make the timing pretty hard. Overall, I am in clear favour of real-time timing
yep. any% cartridge and any% physical and so on would be nice. i hope mods will read this and add this :)
oh nvm i cant explain it correctly. its just that the cartridge is slower because it isnt on the system installed
i am sorry but can you please tell me where there is any Loading time that is longer then 5 seconds in general, i quickly watch my runs for loading times but litterly none of them is longer then 5 seconds, so at most it can differ 1 to 2 seconds, unless i see video proof of this i call this Bullshit
Adding "cartridge" and "physical" either as a version tabs like MK8 is doing ( https://www.speedrun.com/mk8/full_game#32_Tracks_No_Items )
OR
in the platform tab like OOT is doing ( https://www.speedrun.com/oot#Any )
would be way, WAY better option than having separated leaderboard, especially on such minor difference.(no way any loading time is 10 sec by the way...)
Then something is wrong with mine But if Odyssey really becomes famous in speedrunning it would be better to just time gameplay not loading times
I doubt there is any significant load time difference which would need separate categories for different versions. This would be extremely arbitrary, 1-2 subcategories should be the most a game should have (except some exceptions). And runs also won't change to ingame-time since the difference is probably insignificant and nobody wants to retime 300+ runs. If there is actually some kind of difference then runners will switch to the faster version if they feel like the timesave is worth it. PS: Physical version IS the cartridge version. What you mean is Cartridge (physical version) and digital version.
The fact is that if the community agrees on what the timing should be for categories, that's how it will be, they won't change it just for one person.
So why do you keep saying cartridge and physical.... Those are the same thing.
