Why are people so so bad at this? If you scrape the car in the first lap, you are not even worth a duel. In fact if you scrape the sides AT. ALL. you are TRASH. I am willing to say, at twelve years old, I made Monte Carlo 5 in 52.something seconds, and Zone Industrielle in 1:48.something seconds. I see leader board first place holders scraping side in ALL laps, and showing fatigue in third lap, and fear in lap four. Wasting distance, and using the emergency brake...utter dishonor. I would not even play them. If people's times are like this, but at this trash level of skill, I would say that I could make 40.00 sec or under on Monte Carlo 5. Edit: Coming back hour later; The more videos I watch, the sicker I become...
wallbumping exists lmao, i know it's not faster most of the time, but in some corners it's guaranteed to get you a better lap
@talktrash1 you're just mad because you can't keep up ;)
@talktrash1 I’m sad to hear you don’t like the current level of our runs on the leaderboards. Given the fact that you can do so much better I’m looking forward to see your runs on the leaderboards soon. I’ll even give them a go myself. Have a great day. Kappa
Edit: the more I read your comment the more excited I get to see you run the game. Kappa
P.P.S. Of course I race with damage on; that was programmed into me by the driver school on the game.
I have recently aquired a Lenovo ideapad 100s. This does not have a dvd insert though. I intend to resurect my skills at this game, and do my best to prove my words. Thank you everyone and godbless.
Back to the discussion. I am glad I did not sell my Lenovo ideapad; nfs: porsche unleashed will only run on a Microsoft / Windows computer. I am happy so say that i have found downloadable files for nfs: porsche unleashed; after a summary warm up, I will make an attempt to break every record posted on this forum. Thank you for your patience, and once again, godbless.
Felt the same way when I came on here and saw no records and countless YouTube videos from decades ago with better records. Come show us what you got then ;)
Wallbumping is definitely faster with no damage, squeaked the WR on Cote d'Azur without the GT1 purely with wallbumping in the docks. Damage or no damage is the same category so ofc I'm using no damage since it's faster.
Using a Lenovo too, it's almost impossible to get NFSPU to work on any newer Windows OS. Took awhile to get it up and running and even now Factory Driver crashes and I have no music.
Well, the game is over 20 years old, so most players are now either a) inactive b) don't know about speedrun.com c) don't care about having their records on some page d) are too lazy to post/record their records (yes, that really does happen). E.g. for NFS1, pretty much all WRs are held by a guy called "turboman007", aka "jakubkrcma" on Youtube, but many of his replays are simply gone due to websites going down in past. When I asked him if he could provide his replays to me or record them and upload to his Youtube channel, he replied "Yeah well, I might do that someday". That was many years ago and he never did, so yeah a sad story, but true for many game records.
So unless you are the top guy of an old game with empty leaderboards on speedrun.com, you are pretty much guaranteed to never get the actual WR, because someone in the past already got it :)
I’m of the opinion that the optimal routes don’t make contact with the edges.
Lets do an analysis of our runs on Cote d’Azur. The run of mine I’ll be using for this analysis is at this time pending approval, it has a final time of 2:03.00 with the GT1. I’ll be using your best at this time, with a total run time of 2:05.87 with the 911 Turbo.
Your speed went from 171 mph (275 kph) to 157 (252) upon contact with the wall. When you hit the hand break (and hit the wall) dropped you down to 103 (166) from 129 (208).
The time from entering the town to exiting the docks for you took 12.38 seconds; I took 12.2. Your lowest speed was 103 (166) when mine was 120 (193). I hit nothing during this part of the track.
While the difference in time taken was only 0.18 seconds in my favour. This still demonstrates the wall contact was, if not detrimental, at least of no benefit. Moreover, since you were using the 911 Turbo, which has a smaller length you should have been able to make these corners better than I was with the GT1. So, I am of the opinion these techniques of making wall contact are more detrimental to one’s time.
