The tutorial has finally been updated with all the latest strategies.
The game only cares that the party members you recruited survive, see below
here's what i have
rough sketch of route/tutorial. I showed off the skips I found plus mention some ideas for other potential skips. Also, I didn't do the save amaranthine branch of that vs. vigil's keep, but it probably is faster to do that way with how slow saving vigil's keep feels.
So over the past few days I've been looking into the Awakening Expansion as a run a little bit. I've been looking at new game (creating a new warden, not importing one). It mostly looks uninteresting: there will probably be a few small skips you can do by zooming out and standing on top of stuff and getting teleported, but none of the other ways of getting OOB work. Attribute glitch also doesn't work (since you have to play on 1.03 or later), so you have to make due with whatever stats you are given at the start plus probably buying some gear. I'll probably edit this more once I have a full route worked out and I'll maybe do a run or two, but mostly looks like it'll be boring.
It's possible the default map position on ostagar is right next to that guy. We don't have sten or leliana there ever, so it's never been possible to check.
man that second one is really weird, i wonder what happens that causes it to trigger the dialogue.
both categories are up (under miscellaneous), feel free to submit.
Just post a link here when you've done it and i can put up a misc category i guess
yeah, DLC just means if you use any DLC at all, put it in that category. peck is right that you only wanna get zaeed. the only categories that would outright require getting both zaeed and kasumi would be something like all missions or all loyalties (with DLC), neither of which anyone has done, but there's been some discussion on discord and I'd definitely put up a category for those if anyone actually did them.
That was always a weird kinda spot, but I think no for now, since it's still sort of ng+ to start with a higher level character than level 1.
if you're interested in trying something else out, there's a skip i tried to make work a long time ago but got stopped by invisible walls. not for any%, but would be useful for all treaties. basically, same thing as how you get OOB in that fort drakon skip, but in the dead trenches (the huge area in the deep roads that ends with broodmother fight). you can teleport past the barrier right behind you at the beginning into a small tunnel and run around in there a bit, but I never could find a way to get past the additional invisible walls in that tunnel. maybe something like the transformation thing to get OOB in gate skip? i'm not sure though, it's been a while and can't remember all the types of things i tried.
looks really cool, especially the new denerim gate skip. i'll have to try this stuff out once i stop playing card games and start streaming again. on a related note, I wonder doing fort drakon 2nd floor (right before archdemon) could be faster inbounds. That OOB section is really long due to the way you have to run. Probably too many enemies but maybe worth testing?
yeah just submit under any%, there's technically already one glitchless (NG+) run on the leaderboards as well.
if you're looking for some ideas, there's this old single segment run of mass effect by your_name_here which is basically glitchless.
glitchless is perfectly fine for submission. I'm not that familiar with the console versions but i know aleck47 managed to perform them in a slightly different way on xbox 360 so they should in theory work on xbox one
someone figure out how this happened pls (maybe lag???)
Cool. That camp was my guess from knowing the area from all quests routing, but i wasn't positive and wasn't home to test.
Just thought of another potential way to save time:change korcari route. Since we run much faster with swarm, get treaties (since that is a much longer distance) on second trip and get 3 vials of blood first trip (to do exp glitch). Just leave everyone other than warden right near exit. Not sure what the best 3 vials to get would be, but old segmented run did it in this order, so maybe find that on youtube and check.
All sounds good, I like your idea for the character build. I also realized that we wanted less constitution and more willpower and probably didn't need certain spells but didn't go into depth with testing that. I already figured out the teleporting thing with the interior of arl howe. Also, I accidentally realized yesterday that it doesn't really matter who teleports to the other side of the door for the fort drakon skip, as if you just walk a little with hold position off everyone will just follow you OOB past the door (see clip below)
